Ivey Residential
Ivey Residential started as a collaboration between Jake, Mark and Matt Ivey. Jake started building homes in the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) in 1984. Over the years, he built close to a thousand homes and prided himself on the amount of repeat business he received, as well as the referrals that continue to flow our way from satisfied homeowners. Jake received his civil engineering degree from Georgia Tech and, prior to entering the home building industry, served as Columbia County engineer. In 2003 his company, J.W. Ivey & Associates, was named the Columbia County Small Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. He was honored with Builder of the Year awards on numerous occasions, most recently in 2008, and was two-time president of the Metro Augusta Homebuilders Association. Prior to starting Ivey Residential in 2004, Matt was Vice President for Prudential Real Estate Investors. Matt has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a Master’s in Real Estate from Georgia State University. Matt is currently on the board of directors of the Sales and Marketing Council, the Marshall Family YMCA, the Augusta Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Columbia County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Matt has been recognized as the Sales and Marketing Council Builder of the Year for five straight years.
Prior to joining Ivey Residential, Mark served as Vice President and branch manager of G. Ben Turnipseed Engineers. He has extensive experience with water, sewerage, roadway, and drainage improvement projects. Mark has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a registered engineer in the state of Georgia and South Carolina. Mark is active at Warren Baptist Church, serves on the Board of Directors for the Augusta Builders Association, and chairs the Columbia County Engineering Advisory Committee. Mark is a past winner of the Sales and Marketing Council Builder of Year.
As a company, Ivey Residential has been awarded the Guild Master Award for Excellent Customer Satisfaction for 2007 through 2013. We’ve also been awarded the National Energy Star Award for Excellence for both 2008 and 2009, and the Sustained Excellence Award in 2010 and 2013. We've been selected as Columbia County's best builder by Columbia County Magazine readers 2009-2012, and we've been selected as Augusta's best builder for 2013 by the readers of Augusta Magazine.

Building a home should be an exciting milestone, but our experience with Ivey Homes has been an absolute nightmare due to systemic negligence and a complete absence of quality control. We are dealing with a staggering volume of structural defects and severe safety hazards across every single room. Our pre-closing independent inspection explicitly detailed multiple severe issues, but the builder rushed us to close anyway. Now we are left with a house riddled with installation failures and a mountain of unresolved, pending claims in our official warranty portal. We will actively advise friends, family, and our community to stay far away from this builder. To make things right, leadership needs to step in immediately, honor their commitments, and deploy qualified trades to properly fix every single structural, plumbing, and installation defect documented

We were charged an extra $6000 after we were given the initial cost because of an "accounting error" due to a 60s house being built on a 70s lot and we were told they had just caught the error with our house. There are other 60s on 70s lots so did Ivey go back and charge those homeowners an extra $6000 too. I highly doubt it.

The home is really good quality. The house is surrounded with plants, the water from the gutters go into the ground to prevent water puddles in grass. A lot of little details that you don't initially think about but matter down the line, went into building our house!
