Carpenter bees out of reach! Anything that can be done? There are a few carpenter bee holes high up and out of reach without a more significant ladder than I care to mess with at the moment. The holes are right under the roof, about 40 feet off the ground. There is a upper-level porch that is roughly even with them vertically, but about 15-20 feet beside them. The ideal and long term solution seems to be to use a drione or similar pesticide dust and spray into the holes with a puffer. But not being able to access the holes directly, the best I can do is spray a liquid carpenter bee aerosol stream from the porch and repeat often. Outside of getting a big ladder or hiring a professional, are there any other tricks to help a DIYer like myself?

We have a floating home with a separate shed on an adjacent float. What is required to run wire from the main house (separate circuit) to the shed? The conduit must be able to flex somewhat because the two floats will move independently (up to 4 inches). The conduit won't ever be in the water, but will go under both decks and sit 1' above water.

When it comes to pool renovations, what improvements would you choose? I just purchased a home with an inground vinyl pool in the backyard. The liner will need replacing in the next year or so, should we consider switching to a concrete pool instead? Having also read about the benefits of a salt water pool system, should we also consider this change? What would be involved and what sort of costs (long or short term) could we be looking at if we switched?

The builder did not build our home as we had ordered, citing a design change after contract was signed. What recourse do we have? We had requested a built in shower seat in the master bathroom shower. At some point, during the build phase, the design for our home was changed and this feature was eliminated. We did not catch the lack of seat until our walkthrough, and now the builder is refusing to do anything about it. What recourse do we have?

I would like to have a garage that is as inviting as my house. I live in Texas. We drive a lot. The last thing we see when we leave our house and the first thing we see when we return is the garage. It's pretty demoralizing to open the garage door only to find a really ugly, stained garage floor. What is the best approach to refinishing a garage floor?

Standard electrical work or sub standard? I had a contractor update about 85 to 90 percent of the electrical in my house. Since, I found out that there are 20 fixtures on one breaker. Included on this one breaker is the gas tankless water heater and the inside unit for central air. I understand it's about amps, but this doesn't sound right at all. These fixtures are spread out randomly between 8 areas. It seems like it was done out of convenience. I first started noticing this problem when my wife started tripping the breaker any time she used her hair dryer. All this seems wrong in so many ways but I'm not the expert. Does anyone have comments suggestions? I should also let you know I have let them know. The electrician came out and seemed more bothered with my complaint then anything. He said the arc breakers I have are very sensitive and that's probably why. He said he could come back later and wire the intake for ac to another breaker if that's what I wanted. He hasn't been back or contacted me. Now that breaker won't even stay on. I need to know if I should be getting someone more competent to deal with this as well.
