I have been especially impressed with the warranty program. Every time I had an issue it was attended to promptly. Dean has been excellent to work with. The evening before our "big" move we were unloading a POD and he stopped to help for a few minutes. All of your employees have been great.
First would be the employees. I was always responded to quickly and courtiously. I've also been impressed with the workmanship of the home. There were a couple items I didn't think would be fixed but Collin made sure it looked nice. We have friends that moved in down the street and used another builder and they commented on the quality of work they'd noticed in McArthur homes. Your whole team was a pleasure to work with.
After looking at a few different builders we are grateful we chose McArthur homes. They went above in beyond throughout the whole process. Their sales team helped us choose and design our dream house and the crews and vendors did a wonderful building it. After it was finished we noticed a couple things we'd overlooked in the walk-through. We thought they'd be too minor to fix, but they sent someone out immediately. Although we don't plan on moving anytime soon if we're ever in the market again we'll look at McArthur homes first.
Sarah in the design center was awesome. I struggle with matching colors and she helped me without making me feel stupid and gave great suggestions.
McArthur Homes has high standards and genuinely wants its customers to be happy with their home. They are willing to do what it takes to make that happen.
Everything about our experience with McArthur Homes was absolutely perfect! During the whole process we were happy, excited and never disappointed.
I was deeply dissatisfied with the quality of craftsmanship of our home. Our linoleum and our carpet have bumps and the linoleum was patched in a couple of places. The walls are like living in a house from Dr. Seuss. We had a huge gash in the door frame of our closet. The paint was poorly executed around edges throughout the house. All in all nothing McArthur Homes should ever walk away from with any sense of pride.
If you take cabinets out of the equation, everything with our home went pretty smoothly. But when you add them in, it was just about the most frustrating experience of our lives. We are first time home builders and happened to build during a tumultuous time with McArthur finding a cabinet company and unfortunately we suffered because of it. They did away with the originals at the design center, increased the price of what was once a base shaker cabinet by more than $1000, and were extremely difficult to work with to find a resolution. Even upper management in the company were less than sympathetic and said if we didn't like it, then we could walk. Once we decided, it took forever to get the cabinets in, and no one could give us an exact date of when they would be installed. We were told one date, and they would not show up, so we were given another date, and they were still not installed. Instead of McArthur reaching out to these vendors, claiming they could not get a hold of them, our REALTOR had to call and talked to someone on the first try. We had to close without receiving most of our cabinets, receiving them more than a week after, because still no one could tell us when they would arrive on the truck and our loan lock was expiring. One of the cabinets we received was also a completely different color than the rest. Once the dust settled, the product we were provided was not up to par with what we feel like it should be. Every single cabinet is scratched and dinged. The lack of communication between McArthur and it's buyers is ridiculous. We feel like buyers are nothing more than dollar signs to McArthur, and you can pretty much guarantee that everything you see in models is an upgrade. Bottom line: We love our house, and it turned out exactly how we wanted it. The floor plan is perfect. McArthur has great selection, but you definitely pay for it. My recommendation would be to increase communication and trust with your buyers. Give them updates, even if you don't have any, but feeling like you are a checkbook, or worse - forgotten about, is the worst feeling in the world during this already stressful time. Hopefully the cabinets in future homes are better quality and less of a headache than what we received.
McArthur built us a house that I honestly don't think we would've been able to afford with another builder. They were extremely reasonable, personable, and helped us get into the house of our dreams.
We decided to go with McArthur because we liked their home layout and had heard they were a good builder. Our experience had plenty of problems. First, when we signed the initial contract, we were told we would be in within 6 months. 8 months later we closed. Also, upon signing you have 3 weeks to choose everything that will go in your home. We didn't live in the area and it was really pushing us to make all the decisions in that time frame, especially with the design center only being open 2 days a week for a couple hours. They were willing to make changes after this, but it cost for any and every change. One of our biggest issues was the communication between different people/divisions of the company. When we had problems we would be told something by one person and something else by another. For example, while constructing our home large amounts of rain fell and water was were left standing on our subfloors causing them to swell. We were told by the current construction manager that because of the damage they would offer us an extended warranty on the subfloors rather than replace the damage. Later on, after replacing the subflooring was no longer viable, we were told by someone else that no they weren't going to do anything about this and we just had the standard warranty. Same thing with so many other things. One person would tell us they would fix something and then another would tell us sorry after it was too late to fix. We finally learned -- Get it in writing and signed. Fortunately, by closing, we'd learned our lesson and had the fixes and unfinished build items written into our contract. Good thing too, as when we went to get our keys and were told by the construction manager that no they wouldn't fix those things, we could say "sorry, it's in our closing papers that McArthur Homes signed". I don't know if I feel the build quality is great, but overall, I like my home. The sales agents were always nice to us and tried to be helpful. We've had to call on the Warranty department several times and they have been excellent and fairly quick to respond. This is not our first home, so we may have been a little more picky about what we wanted and making sure things were done right. It was a very frustrating build for us and I felt like we were given lip service too often.

Our experience was really good with McArthur Homes. They were really attentive with our questions. They kept on schedule. They kept the construction site well maintained and clean during the process.
The overall building process was good (however not great). We do like our home and feel things will be better once the home is completely finished. Early in the process there were some upgrades that were offered to us but then taken away in two different occasions. This let us have a sour taste from the beginning and surprisingly McArthur didn't want to work with us even after backtracking on the upgrades. The sales staff were professional, helpful, and knowledgeable from the beginning to the end. McArthur builds a quality home and we are very happy with that.

I would not build with McArthur Homes again. Communication is poor and at times was like pulling teeth. Build quality is not the greatest. Overall, the McArthur team will work hard to resolve issues but it won't ever be the same as if things were just done right to begin with. I would put my hard earned money elsewhere.
Building with McArthur Homes was the easiest and best experience of my life. Building a home with McArthur Homes was the second best decision of my life. My family and I couldn't have been happier.
Andra Killian went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. Especially with the closing, we had some deadlines we were hoping to meet and she made sure that things were on schedule and that we were able to close on time.
McArthur Homes's customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They build a good home for a fair price, but their communication was horrible and left a terrible home buying experience.
We had a really great experience with McArthur Homes and purchased a beautiful home for a really great price. I would not recommend using McArthur's preferred lender, however. Also, Farrah and Andrea were both amazing.
