The deck looks okay and the workers were polite and professional.
However, I was charged DOUBLE what it costs in Phoenix because I live in Tucson. For that price, the work should have been impeccable. Around the entire perimeter of the pool, some planks are shorter than others. It appears this company does not operate on the old adage, "Measure twice, cut once." It makes the deck look uneven. The owner called me after my review at their website came up and he asked for photos. I sent them and, after seeing them, he replied, "I would agree this could have be better done."
Buyer beware.
I would, "without hesitation" refer Retire My Pool to any seekers of like needs.
They did everything they needed to do, and it was perfect.
I probably would not recommend it because the planks were not accurately cut. In some places it is wider near the pool. You can see the wood edge to the pool rather than where the cut is made. It is not in one, but all around the pool. I did tell the guy.
Work Done Right - There were too many gaps. It was not laid out according to what I thought it was going to be. I have small dogs, and in the gaps that were left, my dogs could have gotten their paws into them and broken their legs there. The pool decking on the deck was uneven, which led to a tripping hazard. Also, a hinge on the door to the bottom of the pool was a tripping hazard.
Areas Of Satisfaction - They exceeded my expectations with the repair where my dog could have broken his legs. They redid it.
Current Referrals - At this point, I do not know anyone who would be interested in receiving information.
Recognized Excellence - I can't remember the names of anyone I would like to recognize for their exceptional service.
Additional Comments - The person that I got the recommendation from and the work that was performed were very different from what I received. I don't know if that was a change in how Tres Deck changed. When I saw my friend's deck, the spacing was much smaller than what I anticipated, especially with my small dogs. Where I expected an 8th of an inch of Tres deck, it was closer to a quarter to a half of an inch. I have small dogs, and I was using Tres Decks for certain things, and they came out larger than I expected. I have used Tres Decks before. I have an upstairs patio, and it is right up against each other. That is what I expected, and that's what I got. I was told that slacks couldn't be pushed together because of Tres Deck's specifications.
The guys were on time very nice and respectful and 2 carpenters I would hire for any job outstanding craftsmanship
From the first day we had an excellent experience with Deckover. Craig was great to work with and always got right back to us when we had questions. They actually came ahead of the planned schedule. They were very efficient and were in and out in two days. They were clean and tidy and the workers are very friendly. If you want to cover your pool with a nice deck we highly recommend Deckover!
The deck is beautiful
I would recommend them to anyone.
Thank goodness the men left extra boards. We will have to take the time to cut and replace a board that was hastily and shabbily put in place. Further, one support joist under the deck was not put in place straight but at an angle. However, there is no way to rectify this. The supervisor should wait until the lunch hour to text and talk on the cell phone. Had he done this, they might have been done in one and a half days instead of two days.
