Tuckahoe Creek Construction was founded in 1990 and specializes in Luxury Residential Construction. We have built and renovated homes in such prestigious locations as Lockgreen, Westmoreland Place, Windsor Farms, Hampton Gardens, Sabot Hill Farm, The Meadows, Rivergate, Lower Tuckahoe, Mooreland Farms, Founder’s Bridge, Middle Quarter, Countryside, River Place, River Lake Colony, and in various other locations along the River Road and Cary Street corridors, as well as in the Cities/Counties of Goochland, Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield, Powhatan, Lancaster, Surry, and Virginia Beach. We are a small, hands-on building company and pride ourselves on the quality of our craftsmanship, our attention to detail, and our client focused processes and service. Our operating model is one of transparency and fairness, and in 2003 we were awarded The Torch Award for Marketplace Integrity in Central Virginia by The Better Business Bureau, and were selected as runner-up for the International Torch Award that same year. In early 2010, Tuckahoe Creek was one of only 6 local firms honored with the Guild Master Designation by Guild Quality, an independent customer survey service, and was the only such firm honored with Highest Distinction in the Richmond market. We were honored to receive that same recognition in 2011 and 2012 from Guild Quality. We are also an EarthCraft Certified Builder.

Our Personnel:

Gray Stettinius is one of the co-founders of Tuckahoe Creek Construction and is the owner and President. He has close to 25 years experience in residential construction, as well as 7 years in commercial banking. He is a graduate of The University of Virginia having earned his degree in Finance, with heavy course work in Accounting. He has earned the designation of Certified Graduate Builder, Certified Green Professional, and is one of only 2 Master Builders in the Richmond market. He is Past President of the Home Building Association of Richmond, a past Director of The National Association of Homebuilders, and currently serves as a Director of The Home Building Association of Richmond and as a Trustee of The HBAR Designated Fund. He is a long-standing member of the Building Committee of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and was a member of the City of Richmond’s Contractor Advisory Committee where he also sat on a task force charged with evaluating processes and procedures of the Department of Permits and Inspections for the City of Richmond. He is married with three children (1 graduated and out on his own and 2 in college).

Laurie Stettinius has been married to Gray for 28 years and is an officer of Tuckahoe Creek Construction. She has been actively employed with the company since 2004, but has been closely involved with its growth and development since 1990. She has a degree in Information Systems from The University of Virginia. She is responsible for the majority of the back office functions of the company, primarily accounts payable and payroll. She also assists with client communication and product selection.

Our Sub-Contractor and Vendor Partners:

Tuckahoe Creek Construction could not reliably deliver our product and service to our clients as advertised without the support and collaboration of all the many trade partners with whom we have cultivated relationships over the last 20+ years. Some of our partners have been with us the entire time, and others are relatively new members to our team. Regardless, old or new, they all understand what we expect from a product and process standpoint, and know that we are constantly striving to raise the bar and expect the same from them. We value their expertise, and are pleased to be able to offer their talents to our clients.

Every time I enter my yard and house, I am so pleased that Tuckahoe Creek Construction was available to do the work. I have received many compliments.

Tuckahoe Creek Construction

Tuckahoe Creek Construction made every effort to adjust to my schedule, which is confusing at times. I had such trust and faith in the entire crew, that I was able to leave keys with them. This enabled them to replace windows while I was out of town. Because I have a dog, this process worried me. All members of the Tuckahoe Creek team took great pains to keep the dog from escaping.

Tuckahoe Creek Construction

We would highly recommend Tuckahoe Creek Construction to anyone considering new construction, an addition or renovations. Their ability to seamlessly integrate our new, outdoor living space and renovations with the features and challenges inherent with an older home was remarkable. When you work with Tuckahoe Creek Construction, you experience professionalism, attention to detail, resourcefulness and an outstanding quality of workmanship. They were a pleasure to work with and to have in our home.

TCC provided professional experience and quality construction to an addition on our house that has now become a focal point. I would strongly reccomend them to others considering new construction, renovations or additions

Tuckahoe Creek Construction

We just finished building our custom home with Tuckahoe Creek Construction. Gray Stettinius is an exceedingly conscientious builder and patiently works with the homeowner to explore innumerable options and gently guide decisions. This approach optimizes the outcome and minimizes the stress of building. We found our experience building our home to be enjoyable. We love the quality of the construction and the ethical standards to which Gray and his team adhere. At the end of the day, we know we made the right choice regarding our contractor and happily recommend him to any and all of our friends.

Tuckahoe Creek Construction

Tuckahoe Creek's people were the most professional group of contractors we've ever worked with. You would have thought they were remodeling their own homes. They demanded nothing less than excellence from start to finish.

About GuildQuality and our Guildmembers

Homebuilders, remodelers, real estate developers and home services companies pay GuildQuality for customer surveying and performance reporting. We refer to these companies as GuildQuality Members, Guildmembers, or members.

Our service helps Guildmembers monitor customer satisfaction and -- if they choose to publish survey feedback on our public website at guildquality.com -- articulate the quality of their service for prospective customers.

All of the Guildmember information we publish at guildquality.com has been provided to us either by the member (such as pictures of work and biographical information) or by their customers via one of our surveys (customer comments, performance summaries, and reviews).

Surveys, Comments and Reviews

All of the customer feedback that we publish is derived from the customers we survey. Our Guildmembers provide us with their customers' contact information, we conduct the surveys, they receive the feedback, and -- if they have chosen to make their feedback public -- the member's performance report is automatically updated to reflect the response. Members may choose to publish a summary of either all of their feedback or their most recent twelve months of feedback.

In addition to average performance ratings and survey statistics, GuildQuality also publishes two types of customer commentary: Comments and Reviews.

A comment has been provided by a survey respondent in response to any one of the survey questions we ask, and a member may or may not choose to publish it. Often customers provide unsolicited testimonials or compliments, and members can choose to share these comments in their published performance report.

Many Guildmembers choose to participate in our formal review process. These members have added an additional question on their survey: "If you'd like to provide a public review of your experience working with the Guildmember, please share it here." In contrast to comments, which a member selects to have published, we publish all reviews, provided they are at least 30 words long. With each review, we include a one to five star rating provided by the survey respondent.

Important Information about choosing a Builder, Remodeler, or Contractor

It is important to note that GuildQuality does not endorse the qualifications of any company. We make no predictions, warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, about the quality of any work a company on this website may provide. GuildQuality does not accept any liability whatsoever for any harm that might result from any statements presented on this website.

Prospective customers should weigh a multitude of factors when choosing the right building company, and never depend on a single source when making their decision to purchase a home or hire a contractor.
