Our Company
Valuing our James Hardie business, our intense focus on complete customer satisfaction, and our employee managed - not subcontractor-based company, Paragon Construction was chosen by James Hardie as the only James Hardie Advisory Council Member in the Commonwealth of Virginia and one of only 12 companies in the United States.
In July 2003, Joseph Mckey and Jeremy Shank, with 25 years of friendship and over 27 years of combined construction and financial management experience, transformed McKey Contracting, a residential handyman/renovations business, into Paragon Construction Company LLC, a Midlothian, Virginia-based complete exterior renovation specialist.
We manage our business based upon four fundamental principles - Customer Focus, Integrity, Continuous Communication, and Quality Workmanship. They were all good. Lee, Joseph, and Jeremy were are really great. We were glad to have them.
I was most satisfied with the professionalism of the craftsmen. They did really good work.
They were always here on time. They did the work when they said they would and they made sure, if there were any changes, that everyone was in agreement. They didn't fall short anywhere.
Our salesperson, Jeremy and our installation manager were fabulous.
The whole experience was wonderful. They were so professional and customer-oriented. They wanted to make sure they understood what our needs were. We had one or two design changes and they were very flexible.
The final placement of the lights on the deck were not exactly what we hoped for. They should have a final check with the customer, showing were the lights would be placed, before everything is finished.
Well organized and arrived on job on time and with adequate crew and tools to complete the work within the time frame provided.

Although Paragon was not the cheapest proposal we received, they were competitive. Our decision came down to two factors. First, Jeremy always made sure that he was speaking with me AND my wife. Second, we compared their work product with a cheaper company's. We believed that Paragon's finished product looked more professional. After selecting Paragon, we realized what a great decision we made. They are perfectionists. They do not slap your siding up and move on to the next project. Halfway through our project, Joseph and Lee noticed a slight defect with the siding. Frankly, I may never have noticed. However, they worked through the issue with the manufacturer, and secured new material. Then they replaced every piece of siding that had already been installed. Paragon is a customer service company that happens to deal in siding. They also understand that the quality of their work is their best marketing tool.

Paragon Construction Company
Paragon did a great job with our installation. They came back after the job and added some support under the screened porch to stabilize it and minimize the vibrations when walking across the porch. Our job had several arches and columns in the construction which turned out beautifully thanks to Dave and Joanna's efforts in installing and attention to detail in trimming. We are very pleased with the entire job.
Dave and Joanna were very diligent in performing their jobs. They were mindful of protecting the materials while moving from place to place. Dave communicated well when he was going to be delayed.
They were open to questions and suggestions. We made a couple of changes, and they accommodated that very well.
Timely completion of the job. The delays were caused my late delivery of material, not sure if it was ordered late, or just delivered late. The weather also affected the timeliness.
Everyone at Paragon Construction Company deserves recognition for their impressive customer service!

Dave, Lindsay, and Jeremy are timely, friendly, receptive, and purposeful, with no condescending chit-chat. I liked how they aligned my expectations along the entire process. We love our new deck and pergola, it looks just like we imagined.
Jeremy was exceptional in quickly addressing concerns, explaining options, and following up.
Several different options were provided to complete the goals of the project based on my budget and preferences. Flexibility in scheduling the work, professionalism and following up in a timely manner. Jeremy met with me after the work was complete to ensure that everything was satisfactory and to explain the warranties. He even returned to complete a small project that was not included in the contract. It's very apparent that Paragon cares about customer satisfaction and quality work.
Dave is reliable and conscientious. He successfully completed the job within given time constraints so I could surprise my husband for Christmas!
