The quality of the French steel doors is 5 stars. The score is lowered due to the people we had to deal with (Scardino Doors), and I would not recommend them. We were looking to have them handle phase 2 of our doors, but we decided not to because we do not want to deal with Scardino Doors.

Everything was great, but no one told me that the interior and exterior framing weren't done. If I had known that, then I would have dealt with it straight away. Everything else they did was great, top-notch. I would recommend depending on the audience. Most of my friends would go to Lowes.

French Steel was one of the easiest companies to work with during our build. Clear communication always and a superior product made the choice simple. French Steel is the best in the industry!!

This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had with a company. So many bad customer practices there is probably not enough room here to elaborate on. In summary, they do not take responsibility for there own actions when things are not correct. They have a very poor shop drawing process, when changes are made on the drawings they do not get picked up. Then they try to rationalize their own misguided interpretation of the drawings. The owner of the company does not understand the drawings himself. When they get something wrong and do admit responsibility they put off making reimbursement until they have to be reminded and hounded a number of times. Blame gets placed on the bookkeeper then blame gets put on banking changes, etc. etc. Delivery of incorrectly made product kept getting pushed back and the only way we would find out was our calling to inquire. There was no proactive notification of delays. When you tried to rationally discuss problems about shop drawings or product discrepancies the Owner always defaulted to telling us how busy they are and how stressed he is, not really caring about our experience. They experience was so bad our client even saw with whom the problem lay.

Terribly disappointing.

I contacted French Steel to fabricate a custom wine enclosure that I designed with a client. They were wonderful to work with from start to finish. The size and configuration of the enclosure was very exact and working with their technical team on the shop drawings was easy and the plan came together perfectly. We all could not have been more pleased with how well the project turned out, the wine enclosure is a showstopper!

It was worth the wait, because I know they are having supply chain issues and getting the doors in. The wait was worth it.
