I would highly advise my friend to supplement ProTech’s boilerplate contract with requirements for timely communication and a written frequently-updated milestones timeline. We were frequently in the dark, not knowing what’s next, what to expect ... this being our first fire and all, maybe some hand-holding. I would advise my friend to also visit the project frequently — trust but verify.

The Protech team that worked on my house were great. They were true craftsmen. It was a pleasure having them in my home. They showed up on time, cleaned up the areas they worked before they left everyday, and they answered any questions/concerns I had. I was very satisfied with their work.

They were very cooperative. The last month was kind of challenging to finish the small items, only because they were in the middle of something. The project manager was leaving Protech, and that kind of became a challenge in the end, but regardless the personal--the office staff--were very professional and very cooperative. They understood our request, so even in that part, I'd give a 4. Even with the challenges, they were very helpful, and I did recommend them to a friend of mine.
Protech Construction was nice but unprofessional throughout the process. I felt like I was the project manager and I had to schedule or track down different pieces of the project due to schedule incompetence. Our timeline did not meet our expectations.
The work took a whole year. Very sad.
