We engaged Polar Bear Exterior Solutions to do a full exterior renovation: new roof, gutters, windows, doors and siding. Every person we worked with was professional and knowledgeable. We are extremely happy with the quality of the products used, the installation and how we were treated.
We were extremely pleased with the jobs done by Polar Bear Exterior Solutions. It was a pleasure to work with a professional company that are recognized experts in various areas. We were able to get all of our exterior work done (except painting) by this one company. The company is large enough that each type of job had its own crew, which increased the expertise level of the workers as they are able to focus on one area. The quality and look of the finished job far exceeded our expectations.
On the whole we had a good experience. Please read all comments below.
It is very pricey.
Polar Bear Exterior Solutions did a great job.
Fabulous work, bad communication
Expensive, especially for sublet work. I thought crews would have been Polar Bear employees but found they were not when speaking with the gutter installers.
Great work crew
I just sent an 8 page review with pictures to email@example.com
Polar Bear did exceptional work on our roofing, siding, and windows projects. I would advise customers to take the initiative on schedule communications.
We were really happy with the company, and it's a really great warranty! We were happy to find them!
It is a great end product. The roof looks fantastic.
Polar Bear Exterior Solutions did a fine job and after the project was completed, everything looked fine.
I was satisfied with the work they did on this project.
We don't do reviews.
I already had a lot of people ask about the paintjob, and I referred one of my friends.
We had a very positive experience with Polar Bear from the first phone call. Two sales guys came out to give us the pitch, Uryah and Francis, they were very knowledgeable and personable. They gave many options and offered other ideas of things we could do. Materials arrived quickly and the crew that came out to install the windows were respectful and provided quality work. We are very happy with the windows and have received many compliments from neighbors. Highly recommend if you are in need of new windows.
Polar Bear does excellent work & is uncompromising with respect to the materials they use (which matters re: roof longevity & warranties). Highly recommend this company, especially after meeting with 6 others bidders. They also prioritized our roof because we had a leak!
Yes, if they needed a complete roof replacement.
I am likely and already have recommended them to a few people.
The installation went well BUT it was a hefty price. We will see what this wunter brings.
I have recommended to a friend. Did a beautiful job, cleaned up everything, neighbors even took pictures and commented what a great job was done.
They delivered exactly what they promised at a good price.
Awesome company in every aspect - professional, accommodating, flexible, knowledgeable, and great work!
They were awesome, showed up on time and put up with my barking dog.
The sales team did a great job selling the service, but they did not tell us about the bad things that would occur after the installation. We had to have the exterior of the house repainted, and that was expensive.
They were outstanding!
They did superior work and are very professional.
I would highly recommend Polar Bear Exterior Solutions to anyone that would listen!
I feel so fortunate to have had the wonderful experience of their quality products, professional installation and conscientious work crew. My neighbor made the decision to have her roof done by your company after hearing my glowing endorsement. We both love our “Polar Bears”!
They did a great job on the siding. But when I turned on the lawn water system after they were gone, it did not work. After looking at it I found that one of the shut off valves had been turned off. When I turned it on water shot out of the sprinklers. If there was a problem they should have told me. Instead they didn't say a thing and even the last walk though cancelled on me, now I know why. Good job on siding but not telling me about the broken water system was not good. NOTE: They had to move the system in order to put the siding on. Only one valve was turned of so they knew there was a problem.
They spent time exploring the right type of roof I need. They have a lot of expertise and that's what I needed. Plus competitive price.
Joesia, Scott, Anthony and Chris from Polar Bear completed a prefinished James Hardie siding installation on my multi-level home. They tore off the old LP Inner Seal siding, and replaced some rotted OSB with new plywood. They wrapped the house with the James Hardie wrap, and sealed all penetrations. They blocked around the windows, electrical, and hose bibs, placed flashing over the penetrations and at the base, then placed siding square and level on all sides of the house, including numerous pop-outs with intricate fitting. They then sealed it with color-matched caulk. They did a fast, high quality job. I commend this crew and recommend Polar Bear Exterior Solutions for your siding needs.
The company was very courteous, professional, and hardworking. I thoroughly enjoyed the crew that I had.
I'm super happy with the work that I got done.
I loved our installers and the material. They were on time and worked over if they had to. The siding is stunning, and the office staff worked with us very well. Although, the work was started in March, there are still products stacked by our driveway that haven't been picked up.
I cannot say enough about them. The crew was professional, friendly, fun to have around and worked hard. I cannot say enough about them. We ran into issues with the house, which had nothing to do with Polar Bear Exterior Solutions, and everyone has been really helpful to resolve those issues. They are one of the best companies I have ever worked with.
Everything was fine. The only thing I found that was disappointing is they broke one of my yard lights while they were doing the work. I can glue it together no biggie but it would have been nice if they had said something and offered to glue it together. They also cut the screen on one of my windows. It is small and minor, but I wish they had said something about how they cut it. Other than that, it was fine.
Would highly recommend Polar Bear , Excellent customer service, good quality work. Very happy with project.
The staff was professional but their scheduling needs improvement.
Very professional, extreme quality, and incredibly great crew. I am very pleased.
I would give a five if I could.
The team (for much of the time, it was one person) went beyond our expectations
They're great. The salesforce was not. The salesforce was real pushy and a little bit dishonest. They actually kind of were badmouthing our neighbors who referred us to them in order to make the sale. He was saying, "Don't be like them. Don't do what they did. They're crazy." I thought that was a little bit off.
It was great. The guys that worked on the house were awesome. It was done in a timely manner. Everyone was polite. They didn't come too early or stay too late. They were wonderful.
The guys were great to work with.
My entire experience with Polar Bear has been absolutely fantastic! From my initial conversation with Roger to plan the project, through the logistics and designs with Joe, and ending with the actual deck removal and construction with Jonathan and the siding replacement with Josiah, every step has been phenomenal.
Very professional and timely service.
Disappointed with actual project “start date”! When contract signed and 1/2 of projected cost deposited, 7/22/2020, was assured by Mark and Anthony that work would begin “end of Sept - start of Oct”. Work (tear off of gutters) began 11/25/2020.
Leah called 11/23/2020 to inform that “sanican, dumpster and materials would be delivered 11/23/2020...” I asked her if she’d discussed with Kolby (he and I discussed placement of above, to keep portion of driveway clear to facilitate getting our car in/out of garage). She said “he hadn’t mentioned that...”, I attempted to detail where I felt above items should be placed..., she said,”materials would not be a problem. They’ll be put up on the roof!”. The project was siding, soffits and gutters only. No reroof!
Throughout project there were numerous times I called Kolby, left voice mail, or text and left message, without him responding back. Only when I repeated/text do he respond. This happened too often.
Painting contractor, Alex, had to be reminded about “poor coverage...” in numerous areas. He did redo these. Since project has been finished, I’m still scrapping paint specks (numerous areas) from many of the windows (exterior) around house.
On 12/8/2020, crew repeatedly “popped circuit breakers) common to three exterior receptacle being used for power equipment. I’d reset same...eventual two of our inside GFI’s began popping - one in garage damaged (replaced by PB). I discovered that “most” of the extension cords being used had the ‘ground prong’ removed/pulled out. This day it was raining very hard and most of the cords were laying in water puddles.
Since completion of job I’ve found two additional window screens torn (one small screen was replaced, Cory).
Gutters - two downspouts have not been installed as discussed (with (Kolby) which will lead to “slime streaks” on lower roof when gutters are dirty (inside).
The weather, during work and since completion has been terrible, thus I’ve not had good opportunities to inspect completed job thoroughly. I have noticed a couple of things that may need addressing in the Spring. I still need to inspect siding and gutters on upper level of house. I’ll have my son do this in the Spring.
Overall, the personal interaction my wife and I had with crew(s), even amidst COVID, was always very positive! They were, I felt quite personable and respectful of our suggestions.
The appearance of the finished work is outstanding, from afar (r.e., I’ve not done close inspection) and our neighbors comment thusly, often!
FYI - Kolby promised two bottles of touch-up paint. Still waiting for those.
I would probably recommend PB to others, if asked, but would give some caution(s) based on the items explained above.
They've done a wonderful job. The only thing is when they installed the windows one of them was missing a drain plug. This was during COVID-19 and I still have not received that. Hopefully it will come in soon.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Polar Bear Exterior Solutions as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
