Findlay Roofing on WT Harris Blvd in Charlotte installed our new roof in July 2012. Initially all was well and it seemed like they did a good job. Jason Kemp was their rep and Jim Horton was the regional manager. This was not an insurance job. We paid out of our own pocket. We got "lifetime" shingles, which we paid a premium for, and which came with a 10 year "workmanship" warranty. In addition, we also paid an additional $275 for the extended warranty to be doubly safe and secure in this expensive purchase. In January 2023 we had a roof leak which made water streak down our living room wall. I pulled out our original paperwork with our warranty information and immediately called Jason Kemp. I left several messages for him over several days but never got any response. In frustration I called another number listed for Findlay and ended up talking with someone in their Georgia office who told me that each location was individually owned and operated and that basically he couldn't help me. We ended up finding another contractor to fix the leak. Because of this experience I would never recommend Findlay roofing. They did not stand behind their warranty and would not return calls and were not there for us when we needed them most. If anyone from Findlay is reading this and is willing to reimburse us for the cost of the leak repair then I would be willing to change my review to positive.
The entire staff and crew were exceptional and professional.
The crew that did the work was excellent. The roof work was done well, and so was the cleanup. They worked constantly. I was shocked. The salesman was terrible and didn't discuss options. We wanted the best package and had to research it ourselves. We went with the company because of their reputation. The salesman sent multiple incorrect estimates that were missing the original discount. Holes that needed repairing were not addressed when the crew came out. We were told later that those repairs would be a separate charge because a separate crew would have to come out. It took three weeks for someone to come out to address the holes. He did a good job adding temporary fixes to the wholes. He said that he would see if they could add the repairs to the original cost when he turned in his report. I received a bill for the original cost the next day, but it did not address the cost of the repairs. I sent 2-3 emails, including emails to the manager, explaining that this hadn't been done. Then the salesman came out and restated that the cost for the repairs would be $450. He said that he had explained that to me previously, but he had not. Then he said we can find a different company for the repairs, but their fee will be a flat $450. We asked for written confirmation that the repair work would be under warranty. That took a week. Then we paid the original bill, but the repair bill did not say that the work was under warranty. That took another week. Then we finally paid that bill. I never heard from the manager. I think it's terrible because they have a great reputation.
They were very good, answered questions, were on time and courteous. They made sure my adjoining neighbor's property was clean as well.
From the Findlay great reputation, the outstanding warranty, the efficient installation, and the fair pricing, I don't see how you can go wrong with Findlay.

From the initial quote to the final job, the salesman was very professional. He came out and explained everything thoroughly. They came out on the date they were supposed to be here and got the job done in one day. They did a really good job with the cleanup; I was really impressed.I have had a roof done at a house in Tennessee before, but I've never had a cleanup like this before.I went with them after seeing the job they did on my neighbor's roof. I was impressed with the quality of the work and how quickly they got it done.I am sure there will be other neighbors asking who did my roof, and I already referred one neighbor for a repair.
The crew smoked on the property and I am personally against smoking. Overall, everything was very good.

Findlay Roofing exceeded all of my expectations on every level. My satisfaction started when I made the first phone call with the young lady answering the phone. She set a tone of professionalism and courtesy that is seldom found in businesses today. That attitude carried through to every person that I met with during the project at Findlay. Communication was very good. They always showed up on time or early. They worked very hard to finish the job in one day. They cleaned everything up when they were done and the waste was hauled away promptly the next morning. They made progress photos available. They use quality materials. They include a strong warranty. And they were cheaper than a competing bid.
Findlay Roofing did an excellent job from beginning to end. Appointment times were met the quote delivered as promised. The installation went smoothly with the crew showing up on time and working to finish the job in one day. The cleanup was remarkable as not a scrap of material or nail could be found. I will be using Findlay for all my roofing needs in the future.
I had the roof replaced due to hail damage. This meant I had to deal with the mortgage company requirements and the insurance company procedures. Findlay does this stuff all the time and we were able to document and submit all information required. This allowed for quick payment to me, and therefore to them. All employees were professional and knowledgeable. I would use Findlay again.

A year ago, I got a free roof inspection from them. Rather than rushing me into a sale, the sales representative told me to give it some time and wait to see if there were any problems. We ran into those problems this year. They came back and did another inspection. We agreed. From the very first time they came out, they did not try to sell me a roof. They were honest about my needs at the time, saying the work could wait.
The crew showed up at 7 am, installed the roof, and were gone by 1 pm. I appreciate all they did.
They were fabulous to work with. They were one of the best companies that I have dealt with for home services.

The one thing to expect from the crew that does the roof installation is that they mostly don’t speak English. As long as they know how to do their job and do honest work, I’m happy.
