From 1987-1997 two close friends worked for some of the Bay Area's largest home improvement companies. In short, both friends realized there was no hope for the future that they had envisioned when entering into the industry all those years ago.

They failed to start on time, sub-contracted the job to people who hung board that was obviously defective even to the untrained eye, assigned me a project manager who did not communicate and failed to return calls, took a long time to repair the shoddy work while they haggled with Hardie over who would pay for the repairs and how much. Then, after all that anguish, never offered me any kind of financial consideration. To be honest, I never asked and it was probably because I don't need their money and I just wanted them to go away. If this company was professional they would have said, "Greg, we're sorry all this stuff happened. We'd like you to pay us $XXX less for your troubles and, again, we're very sorry." Nope; didn't happen. The owner said he was sorry because he was well aware of all the problems but he happily took the whole amount and left.

The team used tarps to avoid making a mess, and they cleaned everything up (inside and out) before they left. The windows work great, and are a huge improvement on the originals they replaced.

They knew about the inspections and they took care of everything that was needed.
