My deck and yard was not properly protected during the demo and construction. A shrub was smashed by the demo material and rear deck was not properly protected during the construction. My new AC unit had demo debris piles all over the unit and we had discussed that it would be properly protected. I was lucky that the unit was not damaged and not much debris had gone inside the unit. Both front and rear yard was not cleaned after the siding crew was done and left. My wife and I are still picking up nails and construction debris. I step on a nail, but luckily the nail stayed within the rubber sole of the shoe. I just felt like I had to be at the house at all times to supervise the work. I should of asked at the beginning whether the siding crew would be a subcontractor or employees of Colonial. I would have certainly preferred that all stages of construction would be employees of the Company that I hired for the project.
Adam and Mike did a great job. The house looks fantastic. I would reccomend them.
Areas Of Satisfaction - From the minute we met Chas, we knew that Colonial was unlike anyone else. He was knowledgeable far beyond any of the other four companies we talked to before an easy decision to use Colonial. Furthermore, we weren’t absolutely sure on what we wanted but Chas knew what we wanted because he really listened to us. His taste level is impeccable.

Colonial Remodeling brought unmatched knowledge and expertise to a complex project at our small multi-family home. The company that built our home did a terrible job installing our siding, resulting in constant leaks that could only be repaired by tearing off the siding and starting over. Colonial Remodeling answered our questions in detail and educated us on the issues we faced. Throughout the project, they were responsive to our needs and conducted themselves in a professional manner. Though the project took longer than they originally estimated, the quality of their work was high and we'd strongly recommend them to anyone needing to undertake a similar project.
I had one problem and that was the installers put the exhaust top down too tight which caused a backdraft of carbon dioxide into the house. I do not feel like they took it seriously when I reported it or that I received the empathy I was expecting from them.
Ken was kind and courteous. He was great at staying in contact with us and keeping us informed.

He even got up on the roof himself to check on things and when we noticed more nails in the yard he personally swept our yard with a magnet to make sure it was safe for our kids and dogs. The work crew did an outstanding job replacing a steep roof and two out buildings. They worked steadily and completely cleaned up every old shingle, nail and fastener from our yard. when the job was done. Concern For Needs - Adam patiently made multiple revisions to the proposal to get the project within my budget while covering the scope of work. Colonial was willing to install windows that I supplied. Other companies were not willing to consider this.
They haven't finished the painting or installed the gutters or downspouts or replaced the drip guard the siding crew knocked down while replacing the trim yet keep sending bills telling me I'm past due. They left piles of debris in the yard the whole time. Left the dumpster in my driveway for a week after the siding crew left and I had to come home after a fifteen hour day and pick up the stuff that had blown out of the dumpster during the day from mine and my neighbors yard. There appears to be political infighting at the company. Sales tells me to ignore any communication from the company, that he'll handle it and I still keep getting bills. Certainly have no intention of ever recommending them to any one let alone my neighbors.

Michael Shannon's work was wonderful. I would be delighted to work with him again--something one doesn't often say at the end of a long remodeling job!

We found the Colonial team from sales to our project manager to the install crew to be first-rate. Our Hardie plank siding looks great and the attention to detail is noticeable. We had another contractor completely botch the installation of Hardie several years ago and so were very cautious and selective. After Colonial completed their work we had a representative of the Hardie company conduct an inspection and this Hardie expert confirmed a job well done. I will recommend Colonial to others.
They resolved any problems I had to my satisfaction. They were diligent in doing that.
