Contracted for a 2 master bedroom suite, laundry and sunroom addition built onto existing 2 story home. Included screened in porch and full size utility room in basement. Overall things went very well and final construction is awesome. All trades (carpenters, painters, flooring, electrician, plumber, finishers, etc.) were top rate. Some minor glitches and communication issues which come with a construction project this size. Contractor (Jim) and office team (Logan/Beth) were a pleasure to work with and very responsive.
Excellent work and very competitive...highly recommend because they are also dependable and pleasant..great crew.
JLG Builds has done our kitchen and deck remodel and a half bath and laundry room refresh. All perfectly done and on time and budget.
It has to do with something that happened at the end with Mr. Graves. There was a conflict with my work schedule and the hours that the office was open so that I could take them my check for the invoice. I spoke with Bonnie Graves, and she said they didn't have a drop box, but to bring the check to their house. I left work and forgot the address, so I called the office and left a message at the office that I would bring the payment the following morning at 8:00 a.m. That night, Jim came to my house. He is usually a very happy charming person, but that night he gave off this hostility that made me very uncomfortable. As soon as I gave him the money, then he was fine. I honestly felt that the way that he acted was unprofessional. I understand he needed his money, but it was the way he acted, his attitude, and how uncomfortable he made me feel. If it weren't for that last interaction, I would use them again. But because of that, I would not recommend them to anybody. We are getting more work done, and it will not be done through them.
Mr. Graves' attitude does not comport with this business.
They were terrific.
Lack of communication and no inspection.
There is too much confusion with different contractors.
They were fine. Nothing in particular; they did a good job. It was a bathroom remodel. We would recommend them.
I liked they were on time. They kept me in the loop; they responded to my questions and concerns. I thought they were fair. They did a major bathroom remodel. I would grade them as a B+. There has been something since the job that we asked them to come back and look at. I'm sure they will; they just haven't yet. I would recommend them, and I've used them for a small job since then.
They remodeled my bathroom. They did a great job. They were very attentive and got the job done quickly. I was very impressed with them. As a matter of fact, I got them out of the Best Pick Reports book. I would grade them an A in everything. I would highly recommend them and might use them again.
They are just easy to work with, responsive, and they did a good job. They were working on bathroom renovation. I would grade them an A.
They walked us through the entire process. They were open to making changes along the way. They were here when they said they would be, and called when they wouldn't be. They were just great all the way around. We completely redid our kitchen. I would grade them an A+. I already have recommended them.
They remodeled my master bathroom. I did some of the work myself, after they left, but the workmanship was very good. I did have them tile my shower, so they rebuilt it—they gutted it and redid the floors and the walls. And they had—I can't remember what that insert is called—but all the tile work and everything is nice and square. Nice and neat, and they helped me pick out fixtures at their showroom, which ended up looking very nice. I'd give them an A+. They're very good.
Quality workmanship and good materials and so forth. It was a bathroom upgrade. I'd give them an A.
I just liked Jim's patience, and his attention to detail is outstanding. Recently they did what I call mini remodel in two bathrooms—plumbing repair and drywall. You can't even tell where they did it; it looks amazing. I would grade them an A+. I have recommended them already—I think I have a friend that is getting her bathroom done already.
It was positive. It was a bathroom remodel.
I liked very much the guy who did the layout and the plan. We were very happy with that. I felt there was some attitude on the part of the owner of the company that made me uncomfortable. I was having a kitchen redone. I will go with a C+. With the guy who started out, he didn't know what he was doing, and then they switched out the guy, and he was much better.
In large part, the work—when finished—met my expectations. I'm not sure we had a personality match between Mr. Graves and myself. I had some issues. When the job was done, they kind of go away, but during the process it wasn't terribly enjoyable. I'm guessing a lot of people have that with contractors, but that wasn't the case with me. I renovated the kitchen and my living room area. I would give them a C actually. I'd rate the job done a B, but dealing with them, less than a C—so on the average, I guess a C. When the job was done, they did clean up—however, during the course of the job, they weren't terribly good about that. They seemed reasonably good about what they were doing; it's just the other aspect.
Everything that they did was just phenomenal. From their service to their workmanship, to adhering to the quote that we had, they were just a great contractor to work with. They rehabbed my master bath. I would grade them an A+ for sure all the way through.
They did very good work, but it just took a long time to get done. They did a bathroom shower remodel. I'd give them a B for good.
They were on time, they had contractors coming in who were very good, and obviously their expertise was good. I was pleased with all of them that came in and did work. They returned phone calls whenever I called the office, they responded quickly and addressed my concerns. They were very respectful, and they did a great job. We remodeled the bathroom. They deserve an A.
They were not well organized and planned. You never knew when somebody was coming or not. I had to push, and push, and push to get the job finished. They painted where they weren't supposed to, and then the colors didn't match. So, I ended up having to redo painting and paint whole walls, because they just came around the corner on walls where they shouldn't have and weren't supposed to be painting. It was just, there were a lot of problems with the work that they did. It took forever, and they charged an awful lot of money for it. It was a bathroom remodel, a master bath. I'd give them a D. I wouldn't use them again.
They’re amazing. They did a bathroom. I would grade them an A+. They are in my house right now.
It took much longer than anticipated; that was one thing that we weren't very happy about. The guy Mike that did our work—he was very good and gets a high recommendation. It just took way longer than anticipated. I would grade them an B. The quality of work was very good; the worker coming, or if the job was done on time, not.
