We feel that we had a really good experience with Highland. We had the best superintendent in charge of our home. He was very meticulous and kept us updated throughout the process. Since our home was a custom built home, Highland was great allowing us to meet with the subs and completing walk-throughs during the build. We were allowed to be hands-on.
We were disappointed in some of the subs showrooms. We felt that the showrooms were outdated and very poor selections - Out N About and Stone Surfaces.
The biggest thing that we were not happy with, we felt that Highland/Stone Surfaces should have be honest with us from the very beginning that the counter top cracked. Instead they tried to repair it and pass if off as being fixed. Had they told us from the very beginning, we would have replaced all of the counter tops so they would match. The end result, we only had them replaced the island because the rest would have required tile to be removed, redo shiplap, and remove a cabinet. We felt this would cause more damage and more repairs. Also, Stone Surfaces said from the very beginning when I asked them if they have experience with soap stone. They said yes. They should have been honest from the very beginning that they did not have experience. The soap stone is still damaged from them trying to buff out their markings.
Highland homes was very easy work with. Great communication. From pre-construction all the way through the warranty period.
I had a fun and stressful at times experience with the Highland team. I learned so much about what it takes to build a home and wish I could do it again. Really enjoyed it…
The staff is incredibly communicative! At all times, you know what's going on.
I have recommended Highland as a builder for multiple people. Highland is a builder that takes pride in their product and truly strives for satisfied clients.
I would recommend and have already to anyone that I know to have Highland Homes build your house there a quality high standard builder for Meridian

HH did a great job building the home of our dreams and I would highly recommend them. I think I would grade them at about a 95 on a scale of 100.
Yes, We were very satisfied with HH and have already recommended them to other people.
The whole sales, buying, and warranty phase was so well executed. Co-construct made the process so much easier especially with me working overseas while the house was being built.
Highland was fabulous at resolving issues and communication along the way.
Toward the end of our closing, this would have been a 1 star rating and we would have proactively discouraged people from working with Highland. There was so much disorganization and delays that I can't tell you how angry we were. Especially since I personally was doing much of the follow-up and checking in in order to prevent delays that we had seen with other neighbors. Jared did a ton toward making us feel better about Highland during the last few weeks when he personally got involved and was on site every day and got us closed without a significant punch list. We absolutely appreciated this. Then when we were handed over to Riann, we IMMEDIATELY felt like everything would be great. The work she did with us during the warranty period was truly awesome. She was a pleasure to deal with which went a long way toward allowing us to forget some of the struggles we had toward the end of the build. Jared's personal attention toward the end and Riann's amazing service during the warranty period is what would allow us to potentially recommend Highland Homes (although there are several things that we would caution them to stay on top of during the build).
Highland homes is very conscientious in every aspect of their building process and after the sale.
