A total disaster. An inexperienced, untrained crew created more issues than I had before they began their work. My goal was to increase comfort levels in my senior-living, one-level home built on a slab that is super cold in the winter. I hate as a senior being taken advantage of. I was very naive. I have spent thousands and now am having to throw more good money after bad to try and make my home comfortable to live in. It is so bad; I am ready to sell! And I can’t afford to after all I have spent, without taking a loss on the sale.
They dense packed my walls and now I am colder; in the process, they removed the flashing above my windows which now leak. I had to hire a window installer to replace the flashing that their incompetent crew removed. They failed to put back the siding properly, so it was hanging off my house. Once again, I had to hire a handy man to refasten the siding the crew removed while dense packing. And the dense packing was useless as it didn't enter the cavities that already had batt insulation.
While spray foaming triangle boxes, boots, and plenum, they sealed off all my dampers resulting in zero air flow. They reluctantly came back and had to dig out the dampers that they had foamed over. In fact, they over-foamed at junction boxes, boots, and plenum so that HVAC techs couldn't even tune my system. There is 2 feet of foam, yet hot air is rushing out of the flexible ducts that weren’t sealed properly. Yet there remain gaps on my boxes, boots, and plenum. Just today, a HVAC tech walked me around the attic, and I could feel the hot air rushing into my attic at the junctions, boxes, boots, and plenums that are all wide open; that I paid to have sealed. I almost threw up; I am heating my attic!
And the tech said it looks like a dog was in my attic as the Comfenergy crews failed to put back my blown-in fiberglass insulation they removed when trying to foam, so there is no insulation at the boxes and boots. They were simply careless and failed to rake it back and even out my insulation resulting in further cold spots I didn't have. In short, I now will have to hire another company to blow in more insulation and make sure it is even, so I don't have cold/hot spots.
Additionally, they left the lights on in the attic, didn't replace the attic access foam barrier, and failed to seal the major penetrations including light cans/recessed lights and supply vents I paid for.
Next came the bathroom exhaust fans; they were installed improperly and didn't vent because the outside flaps remained closed, while inside a cold draft came in my bathroom because the foam sealing, I paid for wasn't done properly. So now both my bathrooms are drafty. They were cold; now they are cold AND drafty. The HVAC tech today remarked he felt badly that I have two or more space heaters in every room, including the bathrooms!
I strongly recommend carefully watching the crew if you ever choose to allow them to do any work for you. I trusted them. And I regret that. I was naive. I was cold. Rather I am still cold! I trusted their salesperson. The crew that did mine were either let go or quit. In fact, one of them still calls seeking to do side work. I politely declined. I suggest you do the same and seek a competent company that you can trust, does the work you paid for properly, and doesn't damage your home.
Experienced installers that were professional, timely and provided quality workmanship.
They did a great job! I’m very pleased.
Great experience. Cleaned up thoroughly between each phase and at the end of the job.
Because they had to come back 5 times to fix the problem, also everyone was very professional and kind to me.
We had our crawl space in our new home insulated, with the old insulation removed. It is one of those jobs that is easy to put off, but the folks at Comfenergy made it easy and the cost was reasonable. These are professionals and they take customer service seriously, so it was a hassle free experience and I am very pleased with the end result. I'd recommend highly.
Everybody was easy to work with and very informative. They answered all our questions quickly. Everything went smooth.
Great service...Decent price..Did not try to over sale. Follow up after service would be icing on the cake but they did not. Would have given 5 stars..However...I would recommend company to others.
Although the first visit wasn't correct, another team was sent out to correct the situation
They made it easy. Professionals and efficient. Easy communications with main office and sales person.
I had an absolutely terrible experience with this company. We ordered windows from the company in September 2020. Signed the contract and everything towards the beginning of the month. We were told that it could take 6-8 weeks for the windows to be ordered and arrive to be installed. We though, okay fine since timeframe for installation should be in October. Two weeks later the guy came to take the measurements, which pushed back our installation but still thought as long as they are in the by the winter, it will save us money on heating bills. The person they sent to take the measurements was unfortunately pretty rude and seems more bothered by the fact that two of the windows would require custom measurements due to the unusual size and shape. Again, thought whatever as long as we get our windows in before temps get cold. Then October rolls around I send an email checking the status of the order. At that point, I'm told that they need to revise the order since supposedly the factory said they couldn't make two of the windows, keep in mind this was well over a month since the measurements were taken. So at that point, our order I think was actually put in. Again, I thought okay end of November maybe beginning of December is when they should be ready. Those months roll around and with me being the one to constantly reach out to check the status. I have all of this in email traffic too to verify dates. Long story short, we did not receive our windows and have them installed until beginning of JANUARY!!!! 4 months after we signed the contract and paid our deposit. And all I received was maybe an "i'm sorry email". I will never use this company again and based on how we were treated as customers. I always had to be the one reaching out and sometimes I would get a response and sometimes I wouldn't. So I'd have to stay on top of it and if I had not, we would have maybe received our windows sometime in the Spring. Absolutely terrible customer service all around!!!
They did a great job and very professional.
Carl D. was so unbelievably helpful. Helped walk us through our new house and was great at explaining things.
Absolutely varsity top notch and professional all the way around from estimate to install!
Our second floor level used to get hot in the summer months, up to 80 degrees with the AC running. We thought it was a roof fan issue, but Comfenergy recommended sealing all airflows into the attic and reinsulating. Their work entirely solved the problem. Now in the summer months, our upstairs stays at the temperature that we set, and our summer electricity bills are about $100 less than before.
Overall they seemed good. They were the most expensive quote and I was expecting top level service. The sales process was convincing (they fully mapped out the attic and used a heat camera to show me hot spots, etc). The work crew were professional, respectful and on time (only problem is their truck scratched into my driveway and left a small hole).
Where I think they fell short was the lack of follow up. I went with them because of the warranty and the flashy sales process. I was hoping they would come back after the installation and checked again with the heat camera.
Great company. Very professional. They truly care about their clients.
We sold the house not long after the work was completed. It's hard to judge how it worked long term.
They fixed the problem after 2 attempts from other companies. They did great work!
Good crawl space encapsulation company.
Terrible
The work was not completed to my satisfaction, and the work area was left dirty after the work was done.
My salesperson and installers were very courteous and did a good job.
They were quick and easy to work with. Also very knowledgeable.
After multiple times over several weeks the work in still not done correctly and we had to spend hundreds of dollars to fix their mistakes.
