We hired AGR in August, 2016. The following is our personal experience working with them and subsequently, their lawyer. AGR’s customer service is subpar. They waited THREE MONTHS to call in our inspection then FAILED THE INSPECTION. AGR’s workmanship is subpar. In addition to the failed roof, after only two months following the second roof replacement our flat roof is bubbling and coming up at the seams. AGR refuses to address the issue and WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. AGR’s workers broke our swamp cooler during their first roof replacement but DID AGREE to deduct the amount for a swamp cooler company to fix it. They wins points on that issue as the swamp cooler was expensive to repair. AGR doesn’t care about contractually binding agreements. They decided they didn’t want to replace our gutters per the contract without discussing it with us first. They DID DEDUCT the gutter amount from their invoice. But wait it gets worse… In August, 2016 AGR gave us a discount on the contract of $1,153 to win our business. After replacing our roof (twice), AGR claimed the discount was never valid and sent us an invoice with the discount removed. If the discount was never valid, the time to have told us was prior to the first roof replacement when we still had the opportunity to cancel the contract and award it to the runner-up roofing company. Another phrase for this type of shady business maneuvering is called DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. When we told them we would not pay an additional $1,153 they turned the matter over to their lawyer who has been attempting to coerce us into paying the discount since May, 2017. They also placed a spurious lien on our property in a further attempt to get us to pay the discount. Our experience working with AGR has been the worst and I’ve worked with “the boys” in Bensonhurst, NY! I've personally overseen a dozen small to large sized renovation projects over the past 20 years across two states and have never encountered a contractor who refused to honor a discount on their contract. Or one who refused to honor their warranty. Or wait three months to call in an inspection. Or have their lawyer attempt to coerce me into paying more. Never.
We had a new roof put on. Waddle came out and took down the gutters and put them back on once the roof was done.
Russ was quick to respond and communicated very well.
The project looks better than I expected.
