10/10 would recommend. Everyone shares horror stories about large home renovations, but our experience with Gabor was nothing but positive. From start to finish we had a wonderful experience. In the beginning we met with a member of the team, who gave us a layout of what we would need, the anticipated, timeline, and costs. The communication in that process was thorough and the estimates were all accurate. Once the project got started we were assigned a project manager who took excellent cate of us and our project. We were updated every week if not more often on timeline and next steps. All questions or concerns were taken care of promptly. We never had to ask for something twice or remind them to follow up on something. The subcontractors were on schedule and respectful to our home. The project was on time and within expected budget. We really could not have expected a better outcome and we are so happy to have our dream home.

The demo team, electricians, dry wall team, painters, plumbers, hardwood floor guys, and countertop installers (I hope I did not miss anyone) were the best. The carpenter Isaiah was in our home the longest, due to all the cabinetry, so we got to know him the best. His skill, precision, and attention to detail are a credit to him and his professionalism. Ryan was put into a tough situation, having to take over our project at the onset of it, after Bruce left. Kris and I were understandably nervous about this development, but Ryan quickly put our fears at ease by taking charge and assuring us that he would make sure everything ran smoothly - which it did.

Gabor Design Build has a very organized design process and the team communication is excellent. The team members were knowledgeable and creative . They were easy to work with and very personable They addressed any concerns and questions we had in a timely manner as we went through our project .

Communication - Linda, Jessica and Josh responded to all questions and concerns in a timely manner. Linda and Jessica were very good at explaining options and educating us on design .Josh's weekly updates and projected schedule for upcoming week were very much appreciated .

Salesperson - Linda is an outstanding designer. She is very easy to work with and very personable . She is extremely knowledgeable with all aspects of design and creative . She listened to what we hoped to accomplish with our project. She had the skill and knowledge as a designer to come up with a wonderful re-design of our bathroom to give us a more functional space with better use of existing space. She was able to give us a larger shower , larger vanity with more storage , linen storage unit and add water closet within the same square footage . Linda really cares about her clients and wants to make sure they are happy when project is completed . Linda was able to provide us with the names of tile and countertop businesses so we could look at materials before making selections. We found this to be extremely helpful .She responds to any questions/concerns in a timely manner.She checked in on us as we progressed through the project .Linda cares about her clients .

Interior Designer

Interior Designer - Jessica did an excellent job with helping us design a very functional and beautiful closet system for both of our closets to maximize storage and give us a nice looking closet system. I had many questions and concerns and she addressed all of them . Jessica was very helpful with selections of materials. She was able to address our questions and concerns . She responded quickly to emails . I wanted to add an additional towel bar during the project and Jessica made sure to order it so Gabor had it in time for installation of the towel bars .

Architectural Designer

Architectural Designer - Denise came up with a very detailed design . She made sure that we got the same style Pella Windows for bedroom and bathroom and ordered them in a timely manner so they were at Gabor when project was ready to start .I believe Denise may have come up with the idea to put in pocket door from bedroom to bathroom . We love the pocket door as it allows full light to come in from bathroom window with out a door partially blocking the window .

Project Manager - Josh does an excellent job as PM . His ability to juggle many projects and make sure the trades people are scheduled in a timely manner to keep project on schedule is very much appreciated . He kept our project moving along .He is a very good communicator- both verbally and through email . He has a very good personalty for his position as he has to deal with many issues and schedule adjustments and always has a positive attitude. He has extensive knowledge of the various components of construction and the trades .

Future Projects - Gabor was the perfect choice for our Master Bath and Bedroom Project. Their professionalism showed thru in each of their employees. They were knowledgeable and patient and were not satisfied until we were satisfied. Initially we spoke with some other contractors and contractor X said they (X) would give us one hour to make our selections - which is ridiculous!! We visited the Gabor Showroom many times. It was obvious Gabor has done major projects a lot, as they did not miss a thing. We highly Gabor.

We are very pleased with the work done by Gabor Design Build. From start to finish the people listened to what we wanted and worked to make it happen with an appropriate timeline.

This was my first remodeling project and I didn't know what to expect. The design was great, the quality of products was good and the project completed on time. There were a few glitches along the way which everyone told me to expect with a project of this magnitude. Ryan, my project manager, was exceptional and addressed everything to my satisfaction. If I was going to do another project, I would use Gabor again and I would recommend to a neighbor or friend.

Communication - Ryan Rogge was great at keeping me updated and always returned my calls.

The entire project took way too long for such a simple project. There were way too many meetings at the beginning of the project. The project manager should have been involved in the planning stage so there didn't need to be a separate meeting with him to go over the project. Why have designer meetings and then architect meetings. Just adds cost and time. This was just a replacement project no footprint change.

I was so impressed with her attention to detail. The carpenter who worked on our basement was always respectful and diligent while working. He did a fantastic job with everything he worked on. From the painters, to floor insulation, plumbing, and drywall insulators who entered our home; everyone was always so respectful and impressive. Since we were out of town for the entirety of the project, communication was important. Gabor communicated with Paul and me if any problems arose. They were very accommodating, flexible, and professional.

Communication was poor; multiple requests for updates went unanswered. Timeline was more than triple (7m vs 2m) what we were quoted. Initial design plan was not well-thought out, we felt that we had to lead the design process ourselves. Multiple detail oriented issues were brought up throughout design and construction process that were either forgotten, ignored, or pooh-pooh'ed. Issues from day 1 with demo were not addressed until 6 months into the project (broken light shade) and only after we brought up the issue repeatedly. Grout color in 1/2 bath was done in wrong color despite multiple conversations regarding that issue. Demo in the primary bedroom was not completed at initial demo (crown molding), we had to repeatedly bring this up throughout construction. We had to pay extra, outside of our quoted price, to re-finish floors in one of the BRs that work was completed in. The closet we added to the main floor was without a light (we missed this detail in the design portion) and we requested a quote for a change order during construction when we realized our error and never received one despite multiple requests. I could go on, but I think this short list of issues is representative of our overall frustration with communication and execution related to our project.

We we were very satisfied with almost every aspect of this project. In particular, highly effective was the design team which well detailed the project and anticipated all the building codes. Also, highly effective was the project manager. Always calm and polite, the manager had an effective solution for every problem except one. The shower pan, the "main event" for this bathroom remodel, arrived at the job site some two weeks late.

Gabor reportedly has all the critical components on hand before commencing a project. Not true for this project. The delay meant that various contractors had to be rescheduled. Despite the project manager's valiant efforts to reschedule contractors, this project was perhaps 1.5 times longer than had been projected.
