They kept in contact from week to week to let us know what is going on. We are pleased thus far.
I would recommend them to anyone, it was a very hard time in my life when my house flooded. Spangler Restoration was very compassionate and professional.
The worst. Totally abandoned the project, never responded to my calls, I heard someone quit and that’s why. Really the WORST!
Liberty Mutual contacted Spangler immediately after I reported water damage from the upstairs bathroom. Spangler arrived very quickly after that. The people immediately started to assess what needed to be done and did it! Specifically, Davonte checked all over for water damage - much of which was not visible. Next drying units were placed upstairs and downstairs. Every 2-3 days, he or another excellent employee checked to see how the drying process was proceeding and made necessary adjustments. The drying process is certainly not pleasant, but it was reassuring to know that it was in the hands of an expert crew. I am currently working with the same company for the restoration of the entire bathroom and some minor work downstairs.
The fire was easier to deal with than the company itself.
After 15 months of work, Spangler still has not finished my home! Spangler never gave me a schedule of when work would be done or completed. They did not consult me on many of the choices in the hardware, shelving, and others. The project manager never inspected the work of. what each subcontractor had done. They operated by installing when I was not present, then demanding that I pay for a "change order" if I did not like what they did. The home had quality features solid wood features yet Spangler workers replaced my doors and moldings with hollow doors and particle composite moldings, for one example. Many things look cheap now. When mold was found, they did not explain how they got rid of it until I asked numerous times. The carpet was laid before most of the carpentry work done; now of course it has paint and mud and footprints all over! Who pays for that wasteful cleaning of carpet laid too early? The original project manager never took notes when we talked. The carpenter was given different drawings than what we agreed on for kitchen cabinets, for example - which may be due to Camel City Cabinets. No one asked me when I wanted my furnishings delivered. They told me a date that they decided, before work done and before cleaning was done. Now hundreds of boxes sit on my floors, blocking access to the unfinished work areas.
It has taken way too long to get the repairs done on my house. My claim was made in September to get cabinets, install a sink and flooring. It may get completed the week of Christmas. My house if 850 sq ft, its not a huge area and should never have taken this long. It was the initial claim, the estimator and the insurance that seemed to lag on getting everything rolling. I mentioned to the estimator I may want to cash out, I never received an estimate and the estimator didn't call me back to see if I made a decision. I had to call Spangler. My insurance adjustor at Liberty Mutual was no longer working at LM so my estimate was reassigned to a new adjustor and two weeks were lost there. This has been an unpleasant experience for me all the way around. I have washing my dishes in the bathroom sink for three months. Ridiculous. I have tried to be patient and understanding but it hasn't made this easier. Heck, I am buying my own paint because IO opted out of a backsplash and wanted the area painted instead.
Throughout the process, I was very pleased with the people that I met. There are a lot of fine people at Spangler Restoration. I enjoyed the process from start to finish and there are a lot of quality people that work for Spangler.
They were very professional in their job. They handled all of our furniture and personal property with care.
I was satisfied with the work and their promptness to get the job done.
They were all extremely polite and worked very hard.
They worked around my schedule and were honest and open about the pricing.
