This project has taken two years. The original estimate was 6 months to a year. They claimed it was due to insurance issues. That's not the biggest issue. They dealt with everything, from the contents, to demolitian, to reconstruction. When they came to do my contents; I told them the most important thing in my house and how expensive it was. It was a machine that was $13,000.00. I made it clear to everyone that if everything else was messed up, to take care of that machine. They totalled it in the process. They told me after I complained that he was supposed to talk to the technician. Larome said his IQ was higher than mine, and he bet me a year of my salary on that. He couldn't even type in a phone number. We had a very irritable situation. He said it would be dealt with by the end of the week. For four months, a $13,000.00 machine was totalled by the content team. They paid $10,000.00 to replace it. I had a house fire and had to be out of my house. I had to deal with their less than subpar customer service. I was contracted to be with you guys. I have told everyone I know not to use you. I am from Blue Island, and raised there until I moved to Chicago. I wanted to support my community. That was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I was dealing with new people for the demolition and reconstruction. Rafael lied to me many times. I picked out my backsplash, and they told me the night before it was to be installed that it was discontinued. The night before the tile place closed, I had to pick tile off the internet without seeing it. It looks horrible. This was after he told me it would be done by the end of December. My work still isn't finished. There are cracks in the floors in my house and the walls. It's the most subpar work I have ever seen. It took a year and a half extra. I am still trying to speak to someone about getting my grout fixed. I texted last week and was told he was out of the office until Thursday. I have heard nothing. I texted earlier today and heard nothing. Rafael said he would refund me for the microwave and blinds. He said it would be given to me once it's approved. Now I have to wait until the final payment goes out. I am still waiting to get blinds, since they decided not to install them. I don't trust them. This is now June 2026, and the fire was in May of 2024. The work still isn't done. My bathroom still smells like fire and there are cracks throughout my house and in the floors. We moved into a house that isn't finished. There are chips in my bathroom. I had to go through the photos of my house to get proof and evidence that they were using my bathroom to store tools. It has been an uphill struggle in every single aspect except that from insurance, because they are paying out. I shouldn't have to fight the people taking money for me or have cracks in the grout throughout my entire house. There are parts where the tile is moving due to cracks in the floor. The fire alarms are wired now, one of them doesn't work. I tell people to avoid them, my mom wants to make comments with the building department, but I stopped her since that's weird. Skyline has been a nightmare to deal with.
My experience was horrible. I was strung along and lied to. The construction took almost a year to complete. It should never have been that way. The insurance company was involved, and there was some back-and-forth. As time went on, and I communicated by text, I was lied to and kicked to the curb for quite some time. I know there was some time between approval with the adjuster. I understand that was out of their control. They said they would take care of it before winter. I got a call five months later that they would be here on Monday. I wasn't treated fairly. I have texted with one of the managers; they were talking about a $200,000.00 job. I didn't care, I just wanted my siding done. I was very disappointed in the company. I would never recommend them. The work was completed, and the workers were professional, but I wasn't happy with the company.
I would not recommend them and do not utilize their services at all.
Skyline was okay, I liked them. I didn't like the one they put the cement down. He ran off with my money. His name was Jose Padilla.
I am very satisfied with the job they did.
Skyline DKI did a good job. The timing was excellent and the communication was good. They kept in touch and kept me in the loop of what was going on. I felt included. It was a good experience, the job was done nicely and I would use them again.
Great work. Brick work matched perfectly. Had my own contractor over for some other work, he couldn’t tell the difference between the old brick and the repaired brick.g
I had a very good experience with Shelley. Everybody was cooperative and patent with me and it was a job done correctly.
Skyline DKI is better than the company I had before.
Skyline came out and did what they had to do. I was satisfied and in the midst of COVID to get the crew was an obstacle, as it is for everyone, but the bottom line is that they were clean, efficient. They cleaned up after themselves, and when they left they made sure everything was safe.
The Skyline staff were very professional, respectful, and courteous throughout the duration of the project.
Everyone I spoke with, in person and on the phone was polite and helpful. Overall the lack of communication was frustrating. I also felt they were quick to start demoing everything when I didn’t feel there was a need for it. They listened when I said not to do so.
We were in a difficult situation. Their communication could have been better and the work done faster.
After the mid-west, Polar Vortex of 2019, and the world melted... my pipe burst in my basement. After getting turning the water off... the next worry was damp, dark, basement issues. SKyline DKI - IL came out, set up ALL of the fans and dehumidifier, even swept the debris. They had an efficient team, came in and out, and protected my space. Only reason not give perfect stars because the scheduling was a hassle.
This is a tough answer. I think if I would have had a competent lead salesman, the company would have received a 5-star. Unfortunately it wasn't the case. My patience with his incompetency definitely hurt my situation, but it was what it was and a small easy job took 6 months (4-months too long).
After the "dry-out" procedures, another restoration company found three (3) areas that were not dried out. This included: two bathroom floors that needed to be replaced, and one wall that had a 99% reading of moisture. This is completely unacceptable.
They stole my merchandise.
