This is a 5-Star company. From John in the Design phase, to Joe and Isaac in the Production phase, and all the way to Nick and Mike in the Construction phase, everything went very well and we are happy with our investment in our home.

Value and quality match, as in you get what you pay for.

I found Shield Xteriors by looking on the internet. I had never heard of them or worked with them before. My experience with Shield Xteriors was very positive. I needed siding work done on my home as well as some painting and soffit repair. I chose Shield because they impressed me with their knowledge of the work I was looking to have done and their flexibility in trying to work with me. John Magner was responsive in preparing various quotes to cover every option I asked him about that ranged from a low-cost repair option to doing everything including painting the rest of the house. I chose to have Shield do a complete replacement of the siding with Hardie Board Siding as well as to have Shield completely rebuild a very large, tall bay window that I had redone two times before by different contractors ... over a 10-year period. That replacement by Shield is now guaranteed to last and looks great. I was satisfied that the cost to do this work, although not cheap, was fair and reasonable. The Shield/Hardie documented guarantee was part of my decision and I will not have to worry about this issue again. It was worth it.

Also, I would complement the crew that worked on my house. They were polite and very hard working. They were here every day on time and often worked late. I am an engineer and have done a lot of hands-on work on buildings over the years, and to my eye, the quality was wonderful. The tolerances they maintained while installing the siding was consistent and impressive. The caulking was complete and smooth. Also, I compliment the crew on their daily clean up. Before they left every day, they organized their workspace and did a daily clean up. Wow. I have had experience with many contractors over the years and I have never seen that kind of attention to detail and consideration for the homeowner.
I did watch and I did not observe any shortcuts. When it was time for a finished job quality inspection Joe Ovchinikov, Job supervisor and member of the Owner family, walked with me to inspect the work. His review was critical and complete and he either corrected any observations at the time himself or had the crew come back and correct the observations if they were more than he could handle alone ... and he did so promptly. An example was I found a small piece of gutter screen that had gotten lost in a bush. Joe went on the roof and checked all of the screens to be sure they were reinstalled properly. There were a couple of pieces missing so he went and got new screens and installed them himself the next day. I would add, that with the exception of finding the piece of gutter screen, Joe found and noted all of the items that needed to be corrected ... which were very few.

As a final Inspection, Isaac Ovchinikov, the company owner did a walk around inspection to make sure I was satisfied. I was satisfied. I will easily recommend this organization to anyone.

I plan to have them come back in the spring and paint the remaining portion of the house.
