Working with Paul Davis was a nightmare. We had a leak on our third floor townhome due to a steam jet in the dryer. The flooring that was flooded was removed and dryed as well as the the ceiling drywall on the second floor by another restoration company. The first team Paul Davis deployed clearly had limited skillsets resulting in unacceptable flooring and ceiling patch work and mismatched painting. To top if off, when the crew hooked our washer and dryer back up, they didn't put the washer drain pipe into the fixed wall drain; thus, we had a second and more distructive flooding of our third and second floors. We decided to give Paul Davis a second chance and met with one of their regional managers that at the time seemd shocked and generally concerned. He apologized, promised to make everything whole, and documented all of the items that required repair and restoration. We decided to give Paul Davis three weeks to properly plan, order the correct materials, and ensure the appropriate craftsmen were contracted and scheduled. The fourth week, we left for a week-long vacation and was assured by the Project Manager (the same person assigned from day one and that I requested be replaced) that work would resume on Monday. The Project Manager conveyed that he had everyone scheduled including a seven member flooring crew (because of the second flooding caused by Paul Davis, instead of just replacing a few boards on the third floor, now every room on the third floor had to be replaced), someone to patch the second floor ceiling, and painters. We have a front-door ring camera, and I placed two ring cameras in our home (one in my daughters bedroom and one in my fourth floor office - neither of which anyone should have entered). While on vacation, I noticed no-one worked on Monday, and by Tuesday afternoon seeing that no-one had arrived I frustratingly contacted the Project Manager. He responded with a very different story that it was only going to take two days to replace the flooring and that the other contractors would get their work done ASAP.It wasn't until late morning Wednesday that one contractor showed up and he was only there to replace the second floor ceiling dry wall. Not long after he arrived my daugher's bedroom ring camer alerted me, and the contractor was looking through her room and into a closet. Not long after, my fourth floor office ring camera alerted me and he was looking around my office. Now I was furious and contacted both the Project Manager and the regional manager. The regional manager never responded to my attempts to contact him because he was on vacation and didn't want to be bothered. To sum it up, they must have found a sub-contractor out of Harrisonburg, VA at the last minute and they arrived late Thursday and worked Friday, but didn't complete the flooring replacement until the following week when we were home and I was working.I will never use Paul Davis' services again, and will recommend that noone else does either.
The job was completed satisfactory. However, there were many details and a lack of communication for Paul Davis Restoration, the subcontractor, the tenant, and me. As a result, I was very disappointed in the communication aspect of it, and I would not recommend Paul Davis Restoration to anyone else. It goes along with a prior experience with them, which I was very much pleased with.
What they did was fine, it's just not completed.
I was so grateful for the sensitivity of the young man that oversaw my project. I am getting ready to ask them to come and do another job for me.
While I would recommend them in most areas, I would have to say some concerns with areas that had to be redone, etc.
Paul Davis Restoration was repeatedly delayed. I was unhappy with the quality of work. There were repairs that needed to be done multiple times and the communication less than satisfactory
The work took way to long to complete and communication between Paul Davis and myself/property manager was lacking--but they contacted me immediately when it was regarding payment.
