Originally called big bear to get an estimate for a roof repair. With covid i understand the time table for work materials and scheduling is difficult, however when i would call the office for scheduling or questions, nobody would call me back. I originally settled on a roof replacement and wanted a deck installed. I receives a quote and gave the go ahead. Roof was "fixed" and during final inspection everything looked good, except the bowing of the plywood. I stated if the plywood needed replacing i would do that instead of proceeding with the deck. I was informed plywood was good. When i wanted to proceed with the deck i was told it would be 6k more dollars. Couldnt do that at the time so i said i would hold off. After the financing was overcharged 8k dollars, i called the office and discussed the problem and was told i would get a call back, i waited a week, i called back and spome with someone different, was told i would get a call back that afternoon. No call until 3 days later someone called and asked if i wanted to make a payment on the roof, i stated it was paid with a card and also overcharged 8k. Was told again i would get a call back. No call, finally called the project manager , calmly explained i have been patient with the non returned calls and had been trying to get this resolved...told him i was finally irritated and told him if this wasn't addressed soon i was contacting an attorney. This took 2 months and decided to call card company to dispute charges before going any further. Finally got resolved through card company. Now fast forward 2 months ...paid off card and was going to get quotes for a deck. A contractor came by and we discussed details on the deck, he looked up and asked if i wanted to have him look at the roof? I asked why he stated the roof had dozens of nails popping up and the flashing was installed wrong in another spot. I explained i just had someone replace the roof, he told me to call them to come back and reinspect. He left i grabbed a ladder went to the edge and saw a nail protruding up into the shingle over it by 1/2 inch, i could push it back down with my finger. I called them to come out and was told i would be called back to schedule a time. Still no call and its been 2 months. If i had to do it over again i would have chose someone else. My roofs no right and im out my money. And on a side note while the "roofers" were there they kept slamming the shingles on the roof, knocking a light fixture out of the ceiling in the process, my wife asked the forman to please take it easy, he spoke to the guy and he started mouthing off until he realized my wife was standing there. Very rude, on the last day one guy came by to finish last part, he asked if i could move my truck so he could get to a spot i said sure, when i moved it and got out he was in the process of taking a 4ft step ladder and tying a 16 ft step ladder together cause he didnt have one tall enough to reach. I dont believe they stand by their work as my issue is still unresolved. Steer clear and choose someone else.
I’m on the fence about recommendations only because I didn’t have a good experience.
big bear put me new flooring down and after three to four weeks, my flooring start bubble back up i have talk to them about it and they are not trying to fix it for me . also trying to say it not they problem. when the people put the floor down without drying the floor the floors needed new flooring because of a water break. only had my floors three to four weeks.
High quality and very professional
The only problems we had was with the time/schedule. This was the fault of the insurance adjusters, not Big Bear.Big Bear had to wait for Allstate to get their wires uncrossed! The finish on the baseboards is better than when new. All of Big Bear workers exhibited a high level of professionalism. Would certainly use them in the future!
They were good.
I wish all contractors were this easy to work with. I highly recommend them!
I would not recommend them due to the issues we had after the work done in our home.
They were great and perfect! They worked with me.
BigBear Restoration did a horrible job on my house. The job took over a year to complete. Each time I would meet with a representative of BigBear they would give me a completion date that they did not adhere to. I was told by the BigBear owner that there were too many jobs in Atlanta to send someone out to supervise a small job such as the fire damage to my house. Someone stole my refrigerator and tried to pretend that someone broke in my house. Some of the rooms were painted on top of the previous paint. The garage openers were removed and now the garage doors do not work. I sent email after email inquiring about the completion date on my house with no response. Construction workers trash was left throughout the house. Toilets were used even though there was no running water, and they lift feces caked in all three toilets. I could go on and on, and on.No one should ever use BigBear Restoration.
After our house flooded (3 floors worth of damage), Big Bear worked on restoring our house to (even better) than it's former glory. It was a sad day to say goodbye to the team. After working on our house for about six months, it was like saying goodbye to family! I would absolutely recommend this company. Brit, Oscar, and Martin are the best!!
I think they were nice and professional but they did things that I didn't ask for. There were things that I asked them to do that didn't get done. All was good except for the kitchen floor that wasn't level.
Big bear did a fantastic job with our renovation. They were responsive and the quality of their work was outstanding. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
I enjoyed them being in my house. They acted like family and were really good.
I was completely satisfied with the work from BigBear Restoration. The people involved were all so courteous. My kitchen is gorgeous, and I would recommend them to everybody.
They did lousy work all the way through. I will never use them again ever.
Strange to get a survey after my talk this AM with Avery of BIG Bear; loose ends not completed.
I was very disappointed with Big Bear. My husband was technically the contractor of this project. We had to fight the battles with the floor company who installed the hardwood floor and the battles with workmanship being sloppy. The moved our furniture back in the house 4 days later but the work was not complete and therefore there was constant dust everywhere and I was always cleaning. The project lasted 6 weeks when it was finally complete and not to our satisfaction. In addition we were sent a bill in which we paid in full and then 4 months later they sent us another bill stating that we owed them almost $500.00. When we called them about it we left them a message and they never called us back. We finally got a hold of them and they stated "oh yes we sent it to your insurance"...thanks for telling us!
I felt like the time line and response was not as stated and then there were some comments made by a sub-contractor that I felt were racist.
The people were delightful and they did more than I expected.
I was satisfied with the work. I was somewhat new to the claim process and because of that, they were patient with us in trying to make some of the decisions. It was a long, drawn-out experience but not because of BigBear, it was because of our indecisiveness. Greg was very patient with us.
We had some major water damage to our home and Big Bear was able to work with us to put it back together, better than before.
Big Bear Restoration made a difficult situation "bearable"! Skilled workers who were polite and considerate. Took care not to track dirt in. Did the work as promised as quickly as they could.
I was very pleased with the professionalism and quality of work performed. BigBear Restoration helped make my home repairs possible after a very frustrating time. Only wish I had a recommendation for a contractor to assist with unpacking the boxes.
They do a wonderful job, but they take a long time.
