Nice Bats

About twenty years ago my wife and I purchased a house that just happened to be full of bats. When the first bat flew into our bedroom at 3:00am we thought it was a fluke. Unfortunately after ten or so bats, flying through the house over a short period of time, we realized we had a problem.

We began asking everyone we knew about how to get rid of bats; we went to the city animal control and Game, Fish & Parks as well. A volunteer at the Game, Fish & Parks advised us to put up a bat house in our yard. Unfortunately, bats will not live in a bat house if they already have a house to live in. We also hired a pest control company, all they did was put mothballs all over inside our house, which just stank up the house! The bats stayed and my wife moved out (due to the mothballs.)

I eventually found out about exterior exclusion. This method is proven to allow bats out safely and to keep them from re-entering the residence. My wife moved back in and the bats have stayed out!

We display two types of written homeowner feedback on GuildQuality member profile pages: Comments and Reviews.

In response to our customer satisfaction surveys, homeowners share lots of comments about construction quality, communication, or any other question asked in the survey. Guildmembers can selectively publish these comments here on their profile page.

Reviews are different than comments. These are star ratings that homeowners ask us to publish, and they come with a written description of the type of experience they had working with their contractor. We publish all of the reviews we receive: positive and negative alike.

We're redoing my parents roof and their chimney needs some repair work as well. Is it better to do the masonry work before or after we do the rest of the roof?

I have a large property, while there are trees that cover my house (and roof) I was wondering if solar panels made sense? Even if they weren't directly on roof?

We would suggest getting a ground mount system, not only does this allow you to place your array in a prime location but it will also save you the hassle of removing them down the road when the roof n ... read more
