In 2004 Justin Cooper of Mt. Sterling Construction and Jeff Jackson of Mid-Valley Construction joined forces to become one of the preeminent custom homebuilders in Northern Utah. Justin Cooper, who received his finance degree from Utah State University, founded Mt. Sterling Construction in 1997, with the goal of building custom homes of unsurpassed quality and detail for residents of Cache Valley. Jeff Jackson founded Mid-Valley Construction in 1997 after obtaining his Construction Management degree from BYU and earned the reputation for building homes with the highest possible quality standards. With the same ideals and philosophy of providing uncompromising quality, integrity and craftsmanship, their combined experience, Mt. Sterling Construction is now even more equipped to provide a better-built home and more personal time with each individual homeowner. Their dedication to their ideals has resulted in the highest possible level of customer satisfaction. Today, through hard work, attention to detail, and a customer focused philosophy, Mt. Sterling Construction has gained a reputation as one of Cache Valley's premier custom homebuilders.

Mt. Sterling's positive reputation soon led to inquiries from all levels of prospective homebuyers. It became clear that families who were in the market for a high-end custom home weren't the only ones who desired the quality and workmanship of a Mt. Sterling home. Seeing the need for custom-quality homes with lots starting in the low $200,000's, the Mt. Sterling team created sister company Visionary Homes in 2006.

I would highly recommend Visionary Homes. They were very easy to work with. We had no problems at all working with them. We really do appreciate all that they did for us.

There is a term that we learned down in Haiti that describes our experience with Visionary Homes. Translated into English, it means out treatment was awesome, We were impressed with the timeliness of the construction, the quality of the subs, and the whole manner in which it was handled.

They are an okay company that are building a lot of homes very quickly. They could do a lot better. I am essentially happy with my home, but I expected for the cement work to last longer than three months. They said that the problems were not covered by the warranty, but the issues are clearly workmanship related. The owners have not contacted me to make everything right. I would not recommend them.

Building with Visionary was an experience that inspired confidence and trust through the entire process. They were able to build on our lot and modify the house plan for our family's needs. They were mindful of our budget, and we always knew where we stood on price. The quality and attention to detail in our new home is phenomenal. We are so pleased with the final result that we feel like we can spend the rest of our life in our Visionary Home. Thank you!

We are very happy with our home and make sure to tell everyone we know who built it, especially those we know are interested in building. We make sure to tell them how wonderful our experience has been and the high quality of work. So, thank you!

Justin is a very honest and key individual; Garrett is open, hardworking, and up-front; John was professional and courteous; the entire staff in the office was warm and friendly; and a in busy world, I think they really want to do what's best.

The sales staff was very friendly and helpful. Ask to use a different landscaping company than the one they use. Floor plans are well thought out and functional. You can also make minor modifications to the floor plans if you wish. Great starter homes and the price is low, however, quality may suffer a little because of the low price. Pick two of the three and you have visionary homes: quality, speed, price.

Visionary Homes

It was frustrating every time we knew we had to call Visionary Homes. Every time a warranty issue arose, it would be a pain to get Visionary Homes to do the right thing. I found their customer service to be poor. If it was done right the first time, it would have probably been cheaper for them in the end.

Overall a fantastic experience. They were either always on schedule, or if something caused them to get behind, the were always quick to get right back on schedule. A great value for a good price. I hope to build with them again.

Mt Sterling Custom Homes / Visionary is the best company that we've ever done business with. It's been a great experience. Not only were their people great but so were all of their subcontractors.

Working with visionary homes was a positive experience. They helped us a lot in building our first new home. They did what they said they would do. Our home was finished early and the quality was excellent.

The organization of each subcontractor and knowing the costs and what was coming up. The book that they gave us in the end was helpful.

About GuildQuality and our Guildmembers

Homebuilders, remodelers, real estate developers and home services companies pay GuildQuality for customer surveying and performance reporting. We refer to these companies as GuildQuality Members, Guildmembers, or members.

Our service helps Guildmembers monitor customer satisfaction and -- if they choose to publish survey feedback on our public website at guildquality.com -- articulate the quality of their service for prospective customers.

All of the Guildmember information we publish at guildquality.com has been provided to us either by the member (such as pictures of work and biographical information) or by their customers via one of our surveys (customer comments, performance summaries, and reviews).

Surveys, Comments and Reviews

All of the customer feedback that we publish is derived from the customers we survey. Our Guildmembers provide us with their customers' contact information, we conduct the surveys, they receive the feedback, and -- if they have chosen to make their feedback public -- the member's performance report is automatically updated to reflect the response. Members may choose to publish a summary of either all of their feedback or their most recent twelve months of feedback.

In addition to average performance ratings and survey statistics, GuildQuality also publishes two types of customer commentary: Comments and Reviews.

A comment has been provided by a survey respondent in response to any one of the survey questions we ask, and a member may or may not choose to publish it. Often customers provide unsolicited testimonials or compliments, and members can choose to share these comments in their published performance report.

Many Guildmembers choose to participate in our formal review process. These members have added an additional question on their survey: "If you'd like to provide a public review of your experience working with the Guildmember, please share it here." In contrast to comments, which a member selects to have published, we publish all reviews, provided they are at least 30 words long. With each review, we include a one to five star rating provided by the survey respondent.

Important Information about choosing a Builder, Remodeler, or Contractor
