Company History
The Wiese Company was established in 1992 by Ray Wiese, who today serves as president and chief designer. Wiese-a Certified Remodeler, Certified Kitchen Designer and Certified Bath Designer-is personally involved in each design. Ray is also a past-president of the local chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (EM-NARI) and currently serves as the Chairman of the Ethics Committee of EM-NARI.
"When I founded the company, I knew that it was important to hire skilled trades-people, as I was not skilled enough to meet my own standards," says Ray with a laugh.
Today, The Wiese Company proudly employs quality-minded individuals with extensive experience in the remodeling industry. Our team comprises Certified Kitchen Designers (CKD), Bath Designers (CBD), Kitchen & Bath Remodelers (CKBR), Remodelers (CR) and Lead Carpenters (CLC). The company's strength is in the combination of individual skill sets, offering our clients the best of each person's ability, at a value. With a stronghold in Wellesley, Weston, Wayland, Newton and neighboring communities, the company's excellent reputation is illustrated by the large percentage of business resulting from client referrals.

This was our first experience with a significant remodel and went into the contractor selection phase with a great deal of anxiety. We ultimately ended up picking Ray and Terry and the rest of the Wiese Company and were rewarded with a bathroom that exceeds all of our expectations. From the re-imagined layout to the modern look and feel to the quality of the finished work, this experience has been outstanding. I would recommend the Wiese Company to anyone - especially first time remodelers. You are in safe hands.
That's not fair. Only one?Okay, I would split my vote between Chris and Terry.Carol would split hers between Lisa and Chris.Okay - Chris. Final answer. He was there day in and day out and became 'the face' of Wiese Company quality.
Happily!!
We already have. On top of that, anyone who comes through the house wants to know who did the work because the quality of the job is so high.
Unfortunately I do not have a frame of reference. We have never done a significant remodel - having limited ourselves to DIY work in the past. This experience was phenomenal - especially for the first time working with a turnkey provider for remodels. We could not have asked for a better experience.
The work was done so well the first time through that the punch list was trivial at the end.
Every sub from plumbers to housecleaners were great.
Super clean. Effectively sealed off the house from any dust or debris and kept the prep area footprint small and tidy.
Chris was great. He was friendly, kept his work extremely clean and took obvious pride in the way his work turned out. My wife and daughter (and dog) were happy to see him every day.
Again, kudos to Lisa for her design selections and to Terry for connecting us with the good folks at Waterspot.
Terry and Ray are great but Lisa is one of the true unsung heroes of the team. She really helped us to frame our thinking in a way that resulted in a unified final product - clean and modern but not out of sync with the rest of our house.
Only two issues arose in the execution of the design resulting in minor tweaks (that Terry and Matt already had work arounds for). By the time we reviewed the issue, the solution was already obvious. The finished room was actually better in both cases than the original plan.
Terry is fantastic. She is so well organized and clear on the plan that her presentation of the project during and at the end of the design phase is easily understood. Terry's enthusiasm for what she does was apparent in how she addressed our specific project and made sure that it would meet all of our needs.
The project finished EXACTLY on time (even with two scope changes that we added). The final cost was within 2% of the original estimate.
I would like to say yes, but it was so clear that everyone knew what they were doing and were so well managed by Terry and Matt that we found it was better to sit back and not dictate any kind of schedule. As noted in 4 below, the project finished exactly on time. I would trust the whole crew at Wiese to adhere to any proposed schedule.
This little text box doesn't have enough room to speak to this point. I welcome anyone to call me for a complete rundown. Or I'd be happy to send photos of the finished product.
Off the charts. I was more concerned that we needed to keep ourselves organized so that a we could meet their expectations. :-)
Matt Coady did a great job managing our project and keeping us informed on the project including any "glitches" and how they would be handled.
Overall, the Wiese company does quality work in a timely manner. Our home is a nearly 100 year old brick tudor with some unique architectural details, such as gumwood wainscoting, molding, picture rail, and beams. They understood the importance of renovating and restoring these irreplaceable details and did an amazing job on the wood in the house. The initial schedule was essentially adhered to from the time the demolition began to the day we were able to move back home. That's pretty remarkable. Subs showed up when they were supposed to and completed the work according to their planned schedule. There were elements of working with the Wiese company that were frustrating; most notably ongoing communication with the project manager. Our job was, perhaps, unusual and more complicated than the norm in that we were asking them to recreate the house as it was before our fire, rather than have them design a remodel. Some of the communication issues stemmed from that, others from key staff turnover, but primarily from the job manager having difficulty being appropriately assertive and organized in his communications. I would recommend the Wiese Company to anyone needing high quality contracting.
I feel as if Ray is very much a man of his word and is committed to the jobs his company takes on. He takes feedback well and follows though.
I was extremely impressed at the way the Wiese company managed all the subs. There were teams of people working on our job essentially every day, all day. This kind of steady reliability is rare in contracting and very much appreciated to keep the job on track.
We had a wonderful experience with The Wiese Company and are thrilled with our newly remodeled master bathroom. Everyone at Wiese was extremely professional, punctual, and nice to work with. They take pride in their work, have great attention to detail and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We will definitely engage The Wiese Company for future projects.
They did an excellent job. It was a pleasure working with Terry, Alexi and Lisa.
The Wiese Company is an exceptional operation that delivers on the things that matter most to us when considering a home project; honesty, reliability, timeliness, cleanliness, and quality of work. We first used them a couple years ago for a major renovation to our home and didn't think twice about using them again when we decided to redo our master bath. They are a true pleasure to work with.
I recommend you every chance I get. I should also note that a friend recently told me she was at a party and got into a discussion about home renovation projects. She said that two of the people in the conversation had used The Wiese Company and both said they would use them again in a second. No one else in the conversation said they would use their contractor again.
We truly appreciate your commitment to cleanliness.
It was an overall very pleasant experience. I didn't expect it to be that pleasant due to past experiences. The whole team worked well together. I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future.
We plan to move north for retirement. In my dreams I now imagine moving my dream kitchen to Maine with us. I don't know how I will bear leaving it behind when the time comes.
Too bad I can't give a 10!
