Blackdog Builders is a design/build residential remodeling company. We work together with our clients to take a remodeling project from the beginning design phase through final finishing details. We also have home services department to address smaller-scale maintenance and repair projects. Our projects range from basic bath remodels to large whole-house renovations - and everything in between. (more)
We especially are grateful to BD for taking on this project. It wasn't a big job with large dollars but felt we got top shelf service! Thank you for fixing our shower and look forward to more projects together!
Janice Gage did an excellent job designing and coordinating our re-model. She is highly professional, an excellent communicator and very timely in all correspondences. She gives useful feed-back and suggestions; and because she is an excellent listener, she was able to design exactly what we had in mind!Jody also did an excellent job. He was very professional, courteous, and always treated our house like a home, and not a constructions site -- something very much appreciated.
Bill and Tim were both very good.As always Bill is clean, efficient, professional, and friendly.
Joel Bedard was spectacular - professional, reliable, superb workmanship and a pleasure to work with.
They have done several projects for us and we have been happy with the end result of all of them.
Bill who did the work was the best. He feels like a member of our family and we were confident he was always looking out for our best interests.
I only really met Jewel, Mike, and the electrician and they were all super fantastic and great with my kids. We were beyond pleased while working with them.
We are in the process of talking about redoing our kitchen and we are definitely wanting to use Blackdog Design Build Remodel again for that. We are customers for life!
Thank you. Hopefully we will be conatcting you again for our Kitchen!
We enjoyed working with Jane Face our design consultant. She was very professional yet approachable and gave suggestions without being pushy. We went back and forth a few times regarding cabinet and tile selection and are very happy with our final choices. Our Master Bathroom looks even better then I had imagined.
We're really glad we found Blackdog and look forward to working with them in the future; it truly was a pleasurable experience.
The entire Blackdog team was incredible. Our remodeling experience could not have been better. We tell everyone how great of an organization Blackdog is... just great! I wish all companies operated like Blackdog; they demonstrated integrity, professionalism, courtesy, and pride. We can't wait to do our next project with them.
They just did our kitchen; next up is our master bedroom and bath... that will make our life better.
If I had the money I would get them to remodel my whole house!
Having workmen in your house is inherently disruptive. And yet we kind of missed Chuck and Ron after the project completed. That is a testament to the pleasant nature of their presence.
The project was completed extremely close to the originally estimated completion date. There was a one day delay due to availability of a subcontractor. It was not a problem.
Chuck (lead carpenter) and Ron (project manager) did an exceptional job. We were very pleased with the quality of their work overall.
They did a great job of keeping us informed on the state of the project, and upcoming milestones. They were always happy to answer our questions, and were very pleasant.
They were very pro-active on identifying problems, and correcting them.
We went with a 'design build remodel' firm because we wanted to work with someone knowledgeable in kitchen design issues. We were willing to pay a premium for that service. As such, we feel that we received good value. We are very pleased with the design of our kitchen, as well as the implementation of the design.
Tree removal is not normally a part of what we do at Blackdog Builders, but I thought I would look up some information for you and offer some advise. First of all, if the tree is too close to your house where the branches are reaching over your roof, you may need to replace your roof more often due to debris or branches. This is a bigger problem of course with pine and it's sap, but an oak tree will produce acorns and will also shed leaves every fall. This may damage your roof, and if you have a gutter system, it will need to be regularly cleaned.
After some research, it seems that oak is one of the more expensive species of trees to remove because it is a hardwood and usually grows very tall. The following is provided by treeremoval.com:
"Oak is one of the strongest, toughest woods out there. For that reason, tree removal services often charge a premium to tackle them. Oak trees are also very tall. The average height of a healthy oak tree is 60 feet. You can refer to the price guide above to see that you will pay between $200 and $1,000 to have an oak tree removed. Due to the fact that oak is such a solid, thick wood, your total price will probably fall on the higher end of the scale. Make sure you have a really good reason to have it removed before spending that kind of money!"
