Company History We started Blackdog in late 1989, operating out of a spare room in our home and the back of my pickup truck. We focused and built our business on full-service, residential remodeling work. Our first non-field hire was a part-time office manger who is still with us today. By 1994, our staff grew to eight and revenues surpassed the half-million-dollar mark. Still operating out of our home with one computer and one phone, we needed to make a change. We had been doing a significant amount of kitchen work, which we found fit our model well. Short on space, we converted an old barn into a 3,000 square foot office/showroom in 1995. In the space only a few years, elbowroom was once again at a premium, so we built another office/showroom in 2001, where we are located today. We have recently opened a second location in Amherst New Hampshire that is providing all the same services as our Salem Location. (more)
We are in the process of talking about redoing our kitchen and we are definitely wanting to use Blackdog Design Build Remodel again for that. We are customers for life!
I only really met Jewel, Mike, and the electrician and they were all super fantastic and great with my kids. We were beyond pleased while working with them.
Thank you. Hopefully we will be conatcting you again for our Kitchen!
We enjoyed working with Jane Face our design consultant. She was very professional yet approachable and gave suggestions without being pushy. We went back and forth a few times regarding cabinet and tile selection and are very happy with our final choices. Our Master Bathroom looks even better then I had imagined.
We're really glad we found Blackdog and look forward to working with them in the future; it truly was a pleasurable experience.
They just did our kitchen; next up is our master bedroom and bath... that will make our life better.
The entire Blackdog team was incredible. Our remodeling experience could not have been better. We tell everyone how great of an organization Blackdog is... just great! I wish all companies operated like Blackdog; they demonstrated integrity, professionalism, courtesy, and pride. We can't wait to do our next project with them.
If I had the money I would get them to remodel my whole house!
Having workmen in your house is inherently disruptive. And yet we kind of missed Chuck and Ron after the project completed. That is a testament to the pleasant nature of their presence.
We were very impressed with every one at Blackdog.Amee, our kitchen designer, worked very closely with us to design a wonderful kitchen. She listened carefully to what we wanted, combined that with her expertise in kitchen design, and came up with a very nice design. She was patient with our questions and concerns, and made us fell like we were her only clients.Ron, our project manager, kept the remodel moving along seamlessly. He coordinated all aspects of the project, including the delivery of materials and scheduling of subcontractors. He checked in almost daily, and was very responsive to our questions and concerns. On more than one occasion, when we asked him about some small thing that we had noticed, he had already taken action to correct it.Chuck, our lead carpenter, did a wonderful job. His attention to detail in his work was remarkable. Like the other Blackdog employees, he was very pleasant to talk with, and very responsive to any concerns that we raised.
