Our general contracting business has been family owned and operated in Northbrook since 1963. Founded by Charles “Chuck” E. Schwall, all five brothers have worked under his guidance and have “grown up” with the business. Schwall Builders, Inc. specializes in all types of residential projects from high-end remodeling and new homes to additions and interior renovations. We are experienced in light commercial construction, store build-outs and office interiors. Our service department handles window and door replacements, and general repair work. We employ our own project foremen, carpenters, and laborers. In addition, we subcontract to some of the finest local contractors, and have maintained long-standing relationships with them, which gives us project and quality control.
At Schwall Builders, Inc., our goal is to produce the highest quality work, at a reasonable price, in the shortest amount of time. Our projects progress quickly and efficiently, with daily communication with the client and architect. Our job sites are kept neat and clean with debris removed as the work progresses.
Schwall Builders, Inc. has always worked from the old-fashioned word of mouth referral, maintaining high quality and prompt service that our name has always stood for. Schwall Builders
Partnering with Schwall Builders on our new kitchen was the key to a great renovation project for us. They offer wonderful guidance and advice throughout the project, their carpenters and contractors are very professional, and they do very high quality work. There's always surprises along the way and Schwall stepped in with solutions while keeping the project on task. Their communication is excellent and I was always aware of what was happening and when. All in all, Schwall Builders is a pleasure to do business with and they deliver high quality results.

I have entrusted Schwall Builders since 1997 to improve my first home, to build my current home in 1999, to renovate my medical practice in 2003 and 2010. I have never had a problem!! On time delivery and no cost overruns. Well worth the few extra dollars.

work started on schedule, someone was working on-site on our project almost every single day of the almost six month project, and I did not encounter one unpleasant person the entire time.

They were organized, efficient and worked quickly. We saw significant progress each day. Everyone was courteous and considerate of what was going on in our household filled with children and pets. They cleaned up meticulously at the end of every day. And they communicated with us...if there was something written into the plans that didn't look right, they raised the issue. Clearly they want the project to look great, but also want the workmanship to be top notch.
