Hopkins & Porter Construction Inc., was started by its two principals, Guy Hopkins Semmes and Michael Porter Denker in 1977. The company was incorporated in 1982. It has grown from a two-man organization to one currently employing 28. Hopkins & Porter provides full service custom building, specializing in large additions and custom homes which enhance and harmonize with existing structures and communities, and are in keeping with sound environmental practices. A full time handyman service is maintained for the benefit of new and existing clients, allowing strong support for our extended warranty. They are highly professional and have a high level of skill. Hopkins & Porter Handymen's subcontractors are very professional. The project leader was also very talented and skilled. I was highly satisfied with the work that they completed on our home.

It was a complicated job. The handymen knew how to handle it.
All H&P staff were very professional and polite throughout the process. The workmanship was strong and quality materials were used. We are generally pleased with the overall design and final execution. I would be more inclined to recommend H&P to friends had the estimated nine week project not been delayed for six weeks from the date of contract signing and then take another three months to complete. We did not have a clear start and substantial completion date in our contract and this may have impacted how our project was prioritized. There were also some dimension glitches that could have been identified earlier in the process thereby reducing on-site issues/delays.
Nick Linbergh has done many projects for me and is very professional in what he does. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again. He represents Hopkins & Porter in a very positive way so that I can put trust in the company and especially him. I feel I would not be cheated or run around.

This is our first experience with home improvement and we researched several firms before deciding on H & P. We have been very impressed with the quality of their work. They have been very considerate of our needs. They don't cut corners and use quality materials. Our construction foreman (lead carpenter) and our architect have been outstanding to work with. We were so pleased, and I really need to write them a little note and thank the specific people who worked with us. I think what was valuable (that is kind of hard to quantify) is that it was a project where we didn't know what was possible and they guided me through the possibilities. If the things I had in mind weren't the most appropriate choices, they suggested something better. At every turn, they made suggestions of how I could find things more satisfactory. It was always good advice.

Homebuilders, remodelers, real estate developers and home services companies pay GuildQuality for customer surveying and performance reporting. We refer to these companies as GuildQuality Members, Guildmembers, or members.
Our service helps Guildmembers monitor customer satisfaction and -- if they choose to publish survey feedback on our public website at guildquality.com -- articulate the quality of their service for prospective customers.
All of the Guildmember information we publish at guildquality.com has been provided to us either by the member (such as pictures of work and biographical information) or by their customers via one of our surveys (customer comments, performance summaries, and reviews).
All of the customer feedback that we publish is derived from the customers we survey. Our Guildmembers provide us with their customers' contact information, we conduct the surveys, they receive the feedback, and -- if they have chosen to make their feedback public -- the member's performance report is automatically updated to reflect the response. Members may choose to publish a summary of either all of their feedback or their most recent twelve months of feedback.
In addition to average performance ratings and survey statistics, GuildQuality also publishes two types of customer commentary: Comments and Reviews.
A comment has been provided by a survey respondent in response to any one of the survey questions we ask, and a member may or may not choose to publish it. Often customers provide unsolicited testimonials or compliments, and members can choose to share these comments in their published performance report.
Many Guildmembers choose to participate in our formal review process. These members have added an additional question on their survey: "If you'd like to provide a public review of your experience working with the Guildmember, please share it here." In contrast to comments, which a member selects to have published, we publish all reviews, provided they are at least 30 words long. With each review, we include a one to five star rating provided by the survey respondent.
