Scope of Work
As a design/build firm, Feinmann employs architects, builders, designers, and project managers who all collaborate seamlessly with you to ensure you achieve the look and feel you desire, while respecting your available budget. Our in-house team of designers and builders has successfully collaborated on many projects, where their shared knowledge and open communication has proved invaluable. With a little inspiration and a lot of meticulous follow-through, we have transformed hundreds of homes in the Boston area from good to great.

Approach to Working With Clients
Understanding the Process
Remodeling can be a very stressful process for homeowners. We believe it is important to educate our clients about what to expect during the design and construction process, and are available to them via a single phone call, at any time. We work hard to ensure that disruptions are kept to a minimum, creating secondary kitchens when necessary and minimizing dust, dirt, and noise. Budget overruns are another source of stress, particularly when architects and builders are unrealistic about the actual price of a project, resulting in costly change orders. We regularly review projects for "buildability" and help engineer effective design solutions in real-time. Poor communication between the architect and builder is another common problem. At Feinmann, information is not lost in the hand-off between designer and builder, because we encourage our project managers to resolve any issues immediately.
Product Expertise
We also have decades of experience working with kitchen and bath products, and can advise and recommend products that achieve the look and functionality desired. Feinmann also carries a variety of cabinet lines, which make our kitchen and bathroom installations more efficient and less prone to problems, since we own the process and can get the materials to site more quickly.
Respecting Your Budget
Early on in the design process, we establish a target budget that is realistic - we provide several different design options, which vary by price, so the homeowners can see the range of design options available to them. Our projects do not contain contractor-driven "extras" because these costs are calculated during the design phase.
Building Green
We encourage the use of environmentally friendly materials and systems whenever appropriate and have incorporated tenets of "green" design into several of our award-winning projects. We make recommendations about ways our clients can achieve energy savings, and study homes to see where they are losing heat by using a blower door and infrared scanner, and have developed a whole-house energy audit. If green products and techniques are of interest, the beginning of the design process is a good time to talk about options, cost factors, and ways to apply them while meeting budget and design goals.

Everybody was so pleasant, polite, professional, and eager to please. There were so many instances when they asked "is there anything else we can do?" They really worked to make sure we were 100%++ pleased with everything. I never had any situation with anyone who came here where I didn't feel I was given the most professional expertise with a smile and a wonderful attitude. It really was like a partnership.
Feinmann is extremely professional and extremely organized. From the very beginning when I met Peter Feinmann, we were very impressed with him. They were very organized with conversations.Tammy who is the production manager, wow she's fantastic also. We sat around a table, my husband included. We have had a number of conversations sitting around the table talking about ideas for the project, and I really felt like it was a partnership, and that they were listening to us and we were listening to them. It was just such a pleasant experience - really outstanding. I am over the top in what I want to say, because I am just so pleased with the process from beginning to end. The emails, telephone conversations, and around-the-table conversations all happened with patience and professionalism.

Feinmann has an incredible attention to detail and responds wonderfully to all the questions we had for them. They were patient and responsive and when they said they would show up they were already there ready to work. All aspects of the job were coordinated precisely how they and I wanted it to be and we were overall happy with that. The finished job was outstanding.
We worked with Dave and Chris - and would be happy to work with them again. Considering this was our first renovation project since building our house, they made us feel comfortable through the process.

I was looking for a full service design build firm with strong project management capabilities. I experienced exactly that. Any premium in cost was well worth the design, management of the job, and workmanship.
Everyone with whom I've dealt with at Feinmann, including Kert Henicke the architect, Tammy Russo the PM, and Kevin Hodges the lead Carpenter have been exceptionally professional, great at what they do and great to work with.

One of the things that Peter told us was about Feinmann's commitment for follow up if anything goes wrong. Having gone through a bad experience with a prior renovation I was a bit skeptical of Peter's promises. I am happy to say that he was true to his word. We would hire Feinmann again for any reno project.
They did a nearby project. After a few meetings with Peter, we were convinced that, although Feinmann was a bit more expensive, their pricing was more transparent other bids and the additional services Feinmann provided justified the cost.
Tammy and Brian worked on our project (Tammy from the office and Brian onsite). They both did a spectacular job, and were instrumental in getting the project done on time and on budget.
If you can't be on a job site all the time, then this is the group you want to have! Problems as well as a new idea are addressed w/promptness and expertise.
Chris Gonzalez, the principal carpenter and foreman of the project, was a delight to work with. Every part of the project that he touched came out perfectly. He balanced our needs as a client with Feinmann's needs very well. He was always pleasant, helpful and easy to deal with.
Tammy is fantastic to work with and follow up on issues. Brian Shea kept things incredibly neat and clean, and also catered to some small requests quite handily.As subs go, I think Jim Priest does great electrical work.
I don't have anything to compare it to truthfully, but we did have a good experience with them. Considering some of the nightmare stories you hear from others regarding their experiences with their contractors, we had a great experience. I also had one experience myself (for a much smaller project) where my contractor just disappeared on me - went out of business.
Chris Gonzalez was professional, thorough and often went above and beyond the basic requirements.
Uniformly, all the employees and subcontractors were a pleasure to interact with.
Kurt was informative and pleasant to work with.
