Company History

I started the company in November 1982, as a one man operation. As a subcontractor to many Charlotte homebuilders, I honed my skills on all carpentry trades until I had enough private clients business and referrals. We have evolved into a 25 year old NC G.C and NARI certified remodeler offering full service best in build services.

Scope of Work

Our company's capabilities encompass all areas of a client's residence, from kitchen and bath renovations to additions, attics, basements, master suites, porches, decks and patios, whole house renovations, green remodeling and custom homes.

Typical Workload

Our staff is able to produce 5 to 7 jobs on a continuing schedule. Many projects are in the design and estimating phase and when the build contract is accepted and approved; then it moves into the production schedule.

Team Makeup

Our company currently employs 8 people. There are 4 lead remodelers in the field, 1 operations manager, 1 controller and 1 production manager. On staff are 2 NARI certified remodelers and 1 NARI certified lead carpenter.

Personal

I have a bachelors degree in technical theater from UNCC. Continuing education has allowed me to achieve 3 national certifications from NARI, CR, CKBR, CLC and soon to be certified in green remodeling. I served 4 years as a regional vice president of NARI national and served 4 terms on the national certification board.

By displaying trust, integrity, work ethic and cleanliness our clients turn into advocates for our company. They refer us to friends, relatives and business associates as the only remodeler they would contract with and many have called us back for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th project.

We demonstrate our trust and respect for every client from the beginning to the completion and then beyond. We strive to make the experience hassle free and painless so the end result is a project and service that exceeds our clients expectations.

How do you market your company?

Our quiet marketing campaign has made use of branding our image on all signage. Creating numerous positive newspaper, magazine and online stories about our clients projects. Winning over 40 local, regional and national awards has raised our credibility in the Charlotte market.

Ongoing Staff Training and Development

We believe education is the key and encourage our staff to constantly improve. Our company sponsors employees to take certification classes, OSHA lead based paints awareness training, trade show and local seminars, and recently 3 graduates from the NARI green remodeling course.

I motivate by setting a good example of leadership, by going above and beyond to take care of a clients needs well above their expectations. We encourage personal growth for employees by providing a great working environment with benefits that include health insurance and a retirement plan.

I have given back to the community by serving as a boy scout troop chairman for 3 years; an interim president of the local chapter of NARI; a teacher of the "If I had a Hammer" program for 7th and 8th graders in conjunction with the local school system; presented seminars at local home shows; frequent guest on 2 local home improvement radio shows.
