I live in a Century home with a lot of older windows including stained glass originals. When I had Beingessner Home Exteriors come in and work with design, we came up with a beautiful window, which included 6 large arched windowsthat had to be customized to the home. I would build a stud wall and get rid of the recessed niche. Once done you will have plenty of support in securing the TV mount.
