The noise coming in through the windows from outside is what was bothering me. I was hoping the noise wouldn't get through once the new windows were closed, but it does. That was my biggest concern, which wasn't resolved.

Is there anything I can do from inside my attic to battle ice dams? I'll worry about preventing them next, for now I have them and want to speed up their melt.
