Acclaim Renovations & Design

Many years ago Bob Gallese, the Founder & President, was working for a large, nationwide remodeling company. There were times in his tenure with this large company that a job was too small so Bob would tell the homeowner that they would be better served if they looked for a small, local company. This is when Bob would hear the same complaints over & over – “We can’t find anyone to do the smaller remodeling projects. When we do find someone willing to handle the “small stuff” it’s usually a person looking to make extra money aside from their full-time employment and typically they are not insured OR they don’t show up OR they start and don’t finish”. You get the picture!

In 1999 Bob decided he could solve the problem and One Man and A Hammer, Inc. was born. Beginning as one-man operation providing handyman & remodeling services, the focus was quality, integrity, and service. Homeowners called back over and over once they realized that Bob offered everything they needed and then some. Today the company is called Acclaim Renovations & Design because the name, One Man & A Hammer, no longer exemplified the type of major remodeling projects or the size of the company.

Today Acclaim Renovations & Design boasts an in-house a showroom full of cabinetry, counter top material, and flooring along with a room designer, an office staff, and five employed tradesmen. “Why not use sub-contractors”, many people would ask. The answer is simple – in order to control quality, production, and communication there must be systems and procedures put into place and followed. When a client is promised a specific type of finish with specific materials and finished on time Bob knew many “subs” were not organized to the point where they would show up on time and finish in a timely manner. Not to mention doing the job without cutting corners, Bob is adamant about many things but this is at the top of the list – DO IT RIGHT!

Bob’s traits were learned early on in life. As a teenager he worked with his grandfather, a Master Carpenter, during his summer vacations from school. He always loved working with tools and building things from cabinets to home additions. From the age of 11 until he graduated high school, Bob’s summers were spent learning a trade.

These two “lessons” stick with Bob today as the motto of Acclaim Renovations & Design:

“DO IT RIGHT OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL” and “TREAT ALL JOBS AS IF IT WERE YOUR HOME”

Our many awards our testament to the fact that Acclaim Renovations & Design follows what many companies today have forgotten – treat the client right and service them until they are delighted!

Quick and accurate quote, quick-professional installation. Only had them now for a week, but I'll tell you that being able to look out my window is really nice. It appears that they have been installed correctly, but some cold weather shifts this fall and winter will help me determine for sure the... more

I need to replace the insulation in my attic , can I install faced fiberglass insulation over the existing vapor barrier.

No need for s econd mositure barrier which is what the paper-face is. Just roll out unfaced insualtion atop the existing. Or, as an option, rent a blower and use loose-fill insulation.
What is the minimum pitch for a slate roof?

I agree, no less than 4/12 but the sheathing must be layered 100% with Ice & Water memebrane first.
