In 1984, Jerry Wardlaw was learning his craft working for a local Savannah builder after attending Armstrong College. His thoughts turned to making a profession out of homebuilding, and

success would come fairly quickly as Jerry focused on serving the needs of the first time home buyer by building homes in the low-median to median price ranges.

By the 1990's his interested turned to developing - but not the norm of filling plots of land with rows of houses. Jerry had a vision for bringing amenity-rich lifestyle communities to Savannah. He began buying and developing land in sought-after areas of Chatham and nearby counties where his new lifestyle communites earned the same reputation for quality and value as the homes within them.

This phenomenal business growth was the impetus for Jack Wardlaw to join his brother Jerry and form the nucleus of the growing Wardlaw team. Jack's strong financial background would help lift Jerry C. Wardlaw (JCW) Construction to the company they are today. For 10 years prior Jack, a graduate of Armstrong College, had served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Eduation. The in-house financial expertise he provides as an experienced CPA gives the Wardlaws a competitive edge among their home building peers. Some quality builders may lack financial acumen, so this very effective business coupling of the Wardlaw brothers' talents aids the company's growth at every turn.
