Founded in 1985 by Wayne Harbin, our family owned company builds homes across the Peninsula in a variety of price ranges and communities. Our solid reputation and the number of awards we have won for building quality has increased with each new home we build. As the sole Southern Living® Custom Builder Program member on the Peninsula, we have grown in our ability to produce classic Southern designs and contemporary living arrangements. We continue to build homes in Williamsburg in the Wellington subdivision and as well as in the Monticello Woods neighborhood where custom homes and wooded lots are available. The Settlement at Powhatan Creek, a 55+ community, is a low maintenance living homes where homeowners can lock the door and hit the road to travel, visit grandchildren, or work out of town. We build in The Oaks at Fenton Mill in upper York County and have spot lots available in lower York County. In Gloucester, we have lots available in Robinson's Springs and Ashe Farms. Overall they were very professional. They met our expectations. I did have a negative experience---the floor installer stepped on a Civil War footlocker thinking it was a stepladder. It didn't go well.
The Home Enhancement Division did three remodeling projects for us: 2009, 2010, 2011. Because my husband and I travel extensively and for long periods of time, it was important to have the work done within our time frames. We were so impressed with their ability to complete the first job on time, with the quality of the workmanship, and with the communication during the planning and the work that we didn't bother to talk to other builders as we planned the next two projects. We are extremely pleased with the results of all three projects.

All of the customer feedback that we publish is derived from the customers we survey. Members may choose to publish a summary of either all of their feedback or their most recent twelve months of feedback.
In addition to average performance ratings and survey statistics, GuildQuality also publishes two types of customer commentary: Comments and Reviews.
A comment has been provided by a survey respondent in response to any one of the survey questions we ask, and a member may or may not choose to publish it. Often customers provide unsolicited testimonials or compliments, and members can choose to share these comments in their published performance report.
Many Guildmembers choose to participate in our formal review process. These members have added an additional question on their survey: "If you'd like to provide a public review of your experience working with the Guildmember, please share it here." In contrast to comments, which a member selects to have published, we publish all reviews, provided they are at least 30 words long. With each review, we include a one to five star rating provided by the survey respondent.
