We received a weekly update on the progress of the build. This was an important factor since we were not local. Someone was always available to address our questions in a timely manner.
Employees & Subcontractors: The Structures team was an exceptional group of qualified talented professionals. All the subs were equally qualified and professional.
Value: Once the budget was agreed upon it was adhered to, we had no surprises.
Areas For Improvement: None, there were no surprises.
Areas Of Satisfaction: The team put together for our build: the project manager, site manager and designer were excellent. They worked well as a team and were highly qualified to handle their specific roles. Communication was an important factor since we were not local. Someone was always available to address our questions in a timely manner. The designer assigned to us was impressive. Her role was to she kept us on track with our countless decisions, presenting options within our budget. Using her professional experience without imposing her style resulting in a house that is our style.

Expertise: Having never built before, it was vital for me to be able to completely trust my builder! The reputation of Structures Building Company has been one of simplifying a complex process, handling the headaches associated with a build and transparently outlining and placing the options in front of their client to decide for themselves after educating and giving their perspective. I found this to be true and incredibly helpful! I never doubted their ability to execute with excellence and now I'm experiencing it and loving what they built for me!
Schedule: Structures drove an efficient and timely schedule. They kept me informed throughout the process. I appreciated how they made sure they didn't sacrifice on the quality of trades for my house to keep a schedule, rather they told me up front that they would highly recommend that we plan to wait if needed for the quality trades that could be trusted rather than just tapping into other companies who might not have the history or reputation. I was more than happy to wait for any of their trades to insure I had the quality and craftsmanship.
Budget: They were very thoughtful and respectful of my budget goals. They presented options throughout the design phase and build to help me keep things in line. Their transparency allowed me to make decisions that put me in the drivers seat.
Construction Quality: I was completely impressed and thrilled with everyone who worked on my home! They were talented craftsmen and incredibly respectful. I could see the pride they took in their work and was impressed with the quality materials that were used. Everyone I toured through my home during construction and now after moving in has remarked about the quality, craftsmanship, creativity and attention to detail! I see it everyday and absolutely love it!
Communication: Couldn't agree more! Communication is a strong point for everyone I worked with on my project! I felt like they put me in the drivers seat on decisions, while effectively educating me on my options!
Clean & Safe: I was impressed by the level of construction quality that was matched with attention to keeping my jobsite clean and safe! I lived near the construction site and often dropped by unannounced - I was happy to see how my jobsite was kept throughout the build. Seeing a neat and safe jobsite shows pride and a level of attention to detail that can be hard to execute during a build and is often overlooked, I appreciated it being a priority and company standard for Structures.
Employees & Subcontractors: I cannot say enough about the professionalism of the employees of Structures Building Company, their trades and suppliers! Steve Kendrick has done an incredible job of creating a team of talented, professional, creative and responsive employees. My Project Manager, Dave Hargis, helped me wade through countless decisions by answering all of my questions and providing expert advise throughout the build.
Value: I chose to build with Structures Building Company due to their trusted reputation and quality craftsmanship. I approached the design/build process by sharing my financial goals so we could work together to achieve the desired outcome. This proved to be incredibly helpful during the design process as it kept me from over designing. It gave me the ability to make the decision as it was being drawn - I was able to add more in certain areas and pull back on others. They presented countless options prior to the build and I always felt like I was in the drivers seat. Throughout the design, creation of my specifications, allowances and build of the home, they helped me protect my financial goals and I love where everything ended up! Working with Structures was a perfect fit for me! They built a solid home that boasts of quality in the visible details as well as those hidden behind the sheetrock.
Trust: Structures built a home for me that I love, but they also earned my complete trust throughout the build by the way they handled every phase. I experienced something that is rarely experienced in the construction industry, but very common in the "Structures experience" I've heard about for years! Trusting my builder took a lot of the stress off me because I had the confidence that they were working on my behalf!
Punchlist: My Project Manager, Dave Hargis, put as much pride in the punch out phase as he did my entire build! His attention to detail surpassed my own!
Areas Of Satisfaction: I knew without a doubt that I was in good hands by the personal attention they paid to every detail from start to finish! The process was great and Steve Kendrick and his team built an incredible home for me!

Structures helped us work through some severe lot drainage issues as well as satisfying certain restrictions with the Village that we are in. I have discussed the book 'GOOD TO GREAT', which addresses how to build great companies, with Steve Kendrick. Not only was Steve aware of the book he plays the tapes in his car. It is apparent that he has built his company with exceptional people.This is a GREAT organization that anyone who plans to build or remodel should use. We would be happy to answer anyone's questions about our experience.

Additional Comments: They are energy conscious, quality conscious, and think about how a house should be in today's marketplace. Great builders! House is beautiful and not like everything else you see.
Areas Of Satisfaction: Their pride and ability to get things done efficiently and in a cost efficient manner was great. They always kept our budget in line. They had a contact person who was always there and who we directly communicated with and who had a weekly profile for us as far as what was coming next and what to expect. He gave us a time when it would be done and pictures of the house. He kept us in the loop quite effectively.
Lead Source: When we went down to look at Charleston as a place to build a home, coincidentally every home we liked happened to be a home built by Structures. We asked who was doing these houses and once we decided to build a house we figured we would like to get them to build our house. We liked the style and we had a concern with the green aspect of the house. The materials and stuff. They sold a lot of the energy efficient stuff and things that wouldn't wear out. They seemed like a company that knew what was going on in building. They didn't try to sell you just stock stuff. It was mostly the case that every house that we liked was built by Structures. And once we decided that we could build just as efficiently as we could buy we wanted structures to build it.
Additional Comments: They're just a very good company and great people. They have a great product and they merchandise it well. There is never any conflict and they always look to resolves issues quickly. At the end of the day you think of them more as a friend rather than a supplier or someone who built your house.

The staff and subs have all exceeded our expectations. Being in real estate, we were prepared for a rough few months.
