One strength of SB is that they have a well-defined system and approach to which they adhere. In a custom build setting that can be an impediment and can cause issues. However, for us this structure and approach has worked well. SB's ability to execute is strong.
Understand Building Process: I think I do. Connor has been excellent to work with and answers our questions. There is room for improvement during the contract negotiation and materials selection process but until the project is completed may be too early to discuss. SB is understandably very busy and they have to be careful about how much time they spend educating their customers before they commit to the project.
Concern For Needs: Yes. Saussy's systems and procedures are highly defined so that may conflict with custom homebuilding approaches.
Knowledge Of Community: SB is well respected by the Beach Cos and homeowners at KR. They have established a strong niche in comparison to other builders at KR.
Overall Experience: I will probably rate highly, however the project is not completed.
Sales Communication: If by "Sales Team" you mean Connor, then absolutely. SB should work hard to reward and support his efforts. He should be trained for elevated responsibilities. Have met Summer and she is an excellent representative for SB.
Sales Knowledge: Yes. The SB approach may limit some choices but that system enables them to work efficiently and effectively.
Design Center & Selections: Elizabeth really enjoyed working with Aleeha. For budgetary reasons we had to make different choices but we are hopeful that these will work. Preliminary pictures show promising results.
Options: Yes, but we had to make value engineering decisions in order to afford the house.
Responsive Design: House and Landscape design was done by Allison Ramsey and Chachula so SB not involved with that. We would have been open to SB comments but they did not propose any changes. But I can appreciate why they would not want to take on that role. SB used their structural engineer whose plans differ from what Allison Ramsey proposed (eg, number of piers). Hope that changes made will still enable the house to withstand extreme weather.
Sales Community Presentation: Ryan Hamrick was our sales person at KR, reporting to Chris Drury. Ryan was excellent and we were sorry to see him leave. Dean Haeusser has taken over and we are happy with his accessibility. Chris is also available. They understand their craft.
Easier Than Expected: We did not have an expectation going in. I think the building process is harder than one might think regardless of the contractor, especially if one has not gone through it before. The SB team is accessible and responsive.
Customer Suggestion: Perhaps after the job is finished and closed we could have a sit-down to discuss.

Recognized Excellence: Connor Coons was terrific to work with. He was extremely responsive, pleasant to work with, detailed oriented and most importantly ensured the quality and customer service throughout!! This is the 2nd home with Saussy and Connor. The 1st was a Saussy designed build and the 2nd was a semi-custom so Connor served as the GC. We could not be happier!!

Additional Comments: The 2nd home which was a semi-custom build we had initially spoke to another builder because we had liked one of their plans. We were ready to go with them however because of our experience with Saussy and Connor we decided to stay with Saussy and we definitely made the right choice. Our home was delivered on time and we love it. Our neighbor selected another builder and unfortunately have had excessive delays and issues that they are still working through them eight months after our home was completed. As with any build issues came up. Saussy dealt with them quickly and effectively.

Options: I should have gotten more upgrades than what I got for the money that I had into it.
Responsive Design: The a/c is right by the master bedroom and makes a lot of noise. The driveway was too short. We cannot park many cars in the driveway. The paint isn't any good.
Customer Suggestion: My suggestion for Saussy Burbank would be, I think that the house should have more space between the homes and better grading of the yard. Also, they should use a better quality of paint. Also, better tile on the floor for the price that I paid for. I also think water cutoffs should have been installed in the laundry room. I wish that I had gas in my kitchen as well.

Customer Suggestion: I would suggest you clarify if the buyer or seller is responsible for the closing cost. I would also suggest being more clear regarding the transfer tax. In North Carolina, typical market transfer taxes are paid by the seller, but they have it in the contract that they're paid by the buyer. It should be highlighted.

Overall Experience: This is one of the greatest experiences we've ever had.
Sales Communication: The sales team communicated with me both reactively and proactively.
Design Center & Selections: There were a couple of products that we had to change out, but the woman at the Design Center team was very helpful, she also helped us coordinate the various options with items that we already had in our home.
Sales Community Presentation: Dean took us on a tour more than once around the community. Overall, Dean sold us on the community, and you can tell he is a great guy.
Sales Problem Resolution: Conner has a remedy for every concern we've mentioned to him, he is also very quick to respond to my emails, texts, or calls. Conner also makes sure he gets the subcontractors over here to help us in a timely manner.
Salesperson Accessibility: He was very responsive from start to finish. Even after the project was finished, he remained attentive to our needs.
Easier Than Expected: I expected a builder like this to be at a very high level, which they were. They were excellent.
Customer Suggestion: The only suggestion I have for them is to keep up the good work!
Additional Comments: The team of Dean and Conner were outstanding, and anybody buying a house here who is fortunate enough to get those two, will think it's the greatest thing in the world. These guys really do walk you through the process and are with you every step of the way.
Pre-Closing Walkthrough List: They are still in the process of completing the walkthrough list.
PM Communication: Connor Coons was and still is incredible.
Remote Selections: We did make our selections remotely; we are from Florida.
Areas Of Satisfaction: Conner Coons exceeded every expectation. He was excellent from the beginning and is still excellent at getting items completed.
Additional Comments: This is our 13th house we have bought, and Connor, who is doing the closing work and warranty work, has been the best we have ever dealt with.
