We're pleased with the result2.) Strite brought certain design ideas (e.g., eliminating the powder room shower) and capabilities that had major positive effects on the outcome3.) However, along the way, the project required levels of client oversight and intervention that were greater than expected ... particularly given the early investments in planning / decision-making and the substantial premiums (23% profit margin, 30% mark-up on expenditures) paid to Strite.
Schedule: In light of the unknowns inherent in a comprehensive remodel, Strite developed realistic schedules kept the project moving on-pace.
Problem Resolution: Agility relative to changes and adaptations was a strength. There were no instances in which we experienced Strite as being inflexible or prescriptive. The unexpected code issue relative to powder room code issue relative sink / toilet clearance is a good example: the matter was disclosed quickly, in clear terms, and supported by a fully developed, immediately approvable solution.
Value: Fair value: yes. But for the premium charged, the standard might appropriately be outstanding, exceptional or at least well above average.

Response to our phone calls and e-mails were slower than expected.There were a number of work items for which we paid vendors directly. In these cases Strite provided estimates of costs by the job (materials and labor). One vendor did not alert us when we'd greatly exceeded the estimated cost of a job and by the time we were aware of the cost, it was too late to change our selection. If Strite has not done so, they should communicate with issue with the vendor.
Areas Of Satisfaction: We ended up with a good design because of the excellent interactions during design phase. The construction phase went well because of the friendly and courteous Strite construction staff and support personnel. With the exception of a very minor incident, it was a pleasure working with the individual trades contractors -- their expertise and care was unsurpassed. They were very conscientious about cleaning up after each day (this was mentioned and appreciated by our neighbors).

Employees & Subcontractors: There was an issue with one employee of a subcontractor on this job whose behavior (but not workmanship) was unprofessional. Strite took care of the problem immediately, and when I had a subsequent, unrelated issue that needed attention from that subcontractor the owner of the company addressed it himself.
Areas For Improvement: Having worked with them before, I was familiar with their work practices and my expectations were met at every turn.
Areas Of Satisfaction: The quality of their workmanship is second to none. From the tile installer who spent the time to map out several patterns for the tile on my fireplace front to the project manager who took care of every minute detail, it is obvious that each member of their team takes pride in their particular skills and is dedicated to doing the best job possible.

Employees & Subcontractors: The employees and subs also have a real interest in providing a quality work product. Even the painter who was just doing the touch-up painting was very meticulous about it. He made sure he did it right. They laid tile and the floor was not even; the tile guy then spent an inordinate amount of time trying to even it out. There is a real pride in workmanship from the subs that work for STRITE.
Additional Comments: Also, I would like to add, I had them do some work for me like 10 years ago and this time when they came they did a follow up afterwards and asked about ways they could improve. Even during that they were very appreciative of my comments. They have weekly meetings where they talk about these types of things and they appreciated my comments so much; some of them they are going to incorporate into their workplace. One of the things I said was that because the owner supplied materials (and sometimes you didn't know when those were due), I thought they could maybe include that on the schedule they give you so you would know when you had to purchase these items by. Also, I had trouble finding a mirror, and the price range varied from $10 - $200, so there design person would call during construction and ask if they could offer assistance. They really really work with the customer to make it as easy a deal as they can. I am just really impressed with them. Another example, I have carpet in some places and hardwood in some in my home. They matched the carpet so well that in less you were told it had been replaced, you would never know. The same in the kitchen, there was like a horseshoe area they took out on one side and put an island in the middle, (I have all hardwood floors in the kitchen), and in less you knew you wouldn't even see the difference from my original hardwood to what they used as filler. Like I said, there is such a pride in workmanship. They actually have many of the same subs working for them today that they had 10 years ago when I used them. They are very picky about whom they work with. That pretty much sums it up; I am a very satisfied customer.

They asked us to make a list of things lost and they took that off our bill. They took responsibility and fixed the problem with ease. We really appreciated that effort.

At the end of every day, the construction area was cleaned and secured. The children looked forward to the daily visits from "Bob the Builder". Your staff started on time, tackled every challenge, finished on time and made the remodel experience a livable and enjoyable one.
