Professional & Organized: They are extremely organized, prepared, and professional. We had regular meetings to discuss various designs and alternatives, taking into account our budget and preferences. We worked hand in hand with Dave to prepare for a hearing before the Historical Preservation Commission in Evanston and we were thoroughly impressed with Dave's preparation for that critical meeting, which led to approval of our plans.
Employees & Subcontractors: We were very pleased at how friendly and considerate all of RCG's employees were, as well as the subcontractors they chose. First class, all the way. This isn't how it usually is when you work with a large number of subcontractors, but Dave and Pete have clearly set the tone and made it clear that it's important to work with professional and quality people.
Communication: Communication was always timely and clear and we were kept up-to-date on progress, scheduling issues, and overall status of project.
Construction Quality: They used high quality materials and their workmanship was top notch.
Clean & Safe: Several of our neighbors commented on how clean RCG kept the project site -- this was obviously appreciated by us and our neighbors.
Remodeling Concerns: In designing our new front porch, we wanted to transform the entire exterior appearance of our home, but to do so in a tasteful manner that blended in with the look and feel of the interior of our home, as well as the surrounding neighborhood. Mission accomplished on all fronts!
Design Working: We absolutely love our new front porch. Dave Robert's vision and creativity has utterly transformed the entire physical exterior appearance of our house. Our neighbors have all commented on how much they like the new porch and look of our home. We couldn't be happier with the overall finished product. Moreover, both Dave and Pete Wall's professionalism, workmanship and friendliness made them a pleasure to work with.

Dave has projects all over; and I have recommended Dave to many folks and I wouldn't recommend him if I didn't believe he would do a good job, and he has. My particular work has been on an area that requires many additional approvals and in fact engineering studies (flood way). Relationships with the town need to be delicately handled, and sometimes people's construction has floundered because they are not sensitive to the real concerns that towns and villages have and need to be dealing with these municipal and regional officials in a certain way. Dave has none of these problems; and in fact, this is probably one of his strengths. A. What needs to be done? B. Preparing the client for what needs to be done. C. Going out and doing it in the most cost effective and efficient manner to get the job done.
Lead Source: One of my partners back in 1993 recommended him - Dave came out to our house which was built in 1937 - it needed significant work. Truly significant work, re-doing and expansion of the house. I live on the Northshore of Chicago and there are a bunch of very well known architectural firms, and I interviewed all of them. Candidly, Dave was not one of the most well know, but what Dave had was a reputation for doing a slight addition or remodel and people on the need of the project making an addition where it didn't look like the house was ever added to. In other words, designing the projects so it conformed with the original design of the home, which is wonderful.
Recommend Builder: I would and I have on numerous occasions. Those folks I have recommended David to have hired him and are delighted with him.

Schedule: Everything was on time and according to the schedule. They give you a schedule in writing about what is going to be done when and they are always on schedule. There were no surprises.
Additional Comments: This is the most unbelievable group to work with. They are professional and are very skilled. I had an addition done to my home and people that see it can't believe it's an addition. It looks like it has always been there. I talked to several different contractors and they were not willing to hear me. David Roberts was willing to listen and make what I wanted possible. They are so good. They take a very serious personal interest in the project. All of the workers at Roberts Construction are very dedicated and honest. They are very particular about keeping things clean, so people don't mind having them in the neighborhood. They are idea people. They have fresh ideas. They take a personal interest in the work and I think that is important. I think for a person to want to make you happy and content with the job is very important because most builders do not care.
