Employees & Subcontractors: All of the Melton employees have been a pleasure to work with and we always felt comfortable having them in our home and confident with their specialty skills being utilized in the project.
Trust: Absolutely, the reason why we hired them for this large refresh project. We had done a laundry room/mud room remodel in 2017 and they also solved a basement window problems for us with install of new windows on that same project. We were very happy with their work then and will always look to hiring Melton again for any other refresh we may decide to take on next.

These small things along the way really contribute to a team attitude and I strongly encourage Melton to continue those efforts. I felt like Melton (particularly Karen and Craig B.) worked to know me as a person throughout the process. That was delightful and unexpected.

While Melton is far from the least expensive design builder out there, the commitment to getting things right, keeping on schedule, and proactively addressing issues along the way bought me what I paid for: a very responsible contractor who took my project seriously and treated it as individually as I did.

Areas Of Satisfaction: The Project Development team, led by Susan Hamilton, was simply wonderful to work with: organized, efficient, professional, thoughtful, creative in problem solving. The Design presentations and method of selecting finishes made the Design process fun and easy. We loved this stage of the project! In the Construction phase, our Project Manager, Gianna Bresciani, was extremely knowledgeable, practical, and forthright when it came to addressing any challenges that arose during the project. Gianna consistently worked with us and the larger Team to come up with solutions that were fair and that we were all comfortable with. Our Lead Carpenter, Darren Klein, had an impeccable attention to detail, got our input on all the things that mattered - even if we didn't know it! He worked seamlessly with everyone on site and had a great rapport with the sub-contractors. Darren took great pride in his work and held the job site to a high level of standard.

Expertise: I like that there are professionals within Melton with diverse backgrounds and experience. I got the impression that the team working on my project collaborated with these folks and could rely on help from them as questions or problems came up. I had a greater level of confidence knowing that the people who work at Melton collaborate with each other. It appears that it’s an organization that fosters and values teamwork. I think that no construction project is simple whether it’s small or large and each requires multiple levels and kinds of expertise. Melton is the first firm I’ve worked with that had the necessary expertise for all parts of the project.
Areas Of Satisfaction: Melton’s communication was excellent during both the design and construction phases and continues into the warranty phase. They communicated with me well and the team communicated among themselves really well. The project designer was so knowledgeable and she far exceeded my expectations for developing a design that completely meets my needs. She really listened and translated what she heard into a super design, unique to me. The level of carpentry skills exceeded my expectations, The quality of the subcontractors exceeded my expectations. Expertise: Melton either had the in-house expertise to accomplish the task or they brought in trusted partners with which they were obviously acquainted. In the few cases when schedule constraints forced them to work with a new partner, they took extra care to monitor their progress to ensure it was up to Melton's standard.
Schedule: Schedules reflect intent but inevitably must flex when they encounter real-world constraints. Throughout the project Gianna and Tim were able to implement contingencies to maintain forward momentum. Their ability to adapt and develop solutions quickly made even the unexpected, less stressful.
Construction Quality: Melton is staffed with professionals with the ability to raise craftsmanship to an art form. The project required a few site-built elements that were tricky to plan, let alone implement. In response, Gianna introduced us to Darren, a master carpenter. His ingenuity, attention to detail, and keen eye provided us with some custom woodwork that still bring a smile each time we enjoy it.
Problem Resolution: When questions, concerns, or problems surfaced, Melton addressed and resolved them. Period. This level of service extended even to support staff, where it was a pleasure to work with Selene in Accounting.
Clean & Safe: Construction is messy; it just is. With that said, the care and concern Melton exercised during the project made a huge difference at the end. Zipper walls and Ram Board are a big deal and Melton did not skimp when it came to protecting my home. Clean up at the end of each work day not only made for a more pleasant experience, it allowed the teams to more accurately assess progress and address issues.
Employees & Subcontractors: Melton hires great people. They do an exceptional job setting expectations about the "Melton Standard" and ensuring it is maintained, even by their partners.
Trust: Bottom line, this is why I decided to go with Melton. At every touchpoint, the commitments made were met and when circumstances made those commitments impossible or unfeasible, there was never a concern; Melton found a way.
Areas Of Satisfaction: Melton’s commitment to our satisfaction. What business doesn’t say this about their service? Follow through, however, is often inconvenient, time consuming, and/or expensive. At no time did Melton balk and press for the expedient option.

I can't imagine another team being able to navigate the labyrinth of engineering and permit red tape that they had to get through to build the ADU.
Schedule: They did the absolutely best they could in the face of outside circumstances (city permits, inspections, FEMA regulations, and more!) and once construction began it went so quickly and stayed exactly in the estimated timeline.
Communication: We loved the weekly check-ins, we really felt taken care of and supported throughout the process. Everyone was so available to us, especially Reed and Adrian!
Clean & Safe: We really appreciated the care and consideration of our young kids during the construction phase. Our kids were kept safe, even while being able to play in parts of the backyard next to the construction site.
Trust: YES! We had such a great experience, that we are going to continue working with Melton for our kitchen and bathroom remodel.
Areas Of Satisfaction: Successfully building our ADU on a property fraught with nightmarish restrictions at the city and federal levels! (flood zone, wetlands protected area, city ADU restrictions, and more!)
Additional Comments: Again, we are SO grateful for Melton, we would not have the home and life we enjoy every day without their support. Adrian, Reed, Ryan, Jess, and Simon are saints for putting up with us and our project. We are so happy!

He worked very well with us on every aspect of the job. His workmanship was excellent with great attention to detail AND execution. Also, job site was kept clean and safe for the entire project.Design help from Cindy was priceless and really helped to come up with the product we didn't even know we wanted. Great design ideas and gave good choices to keep our decision-making simple. She understood what we liked very early on and I think we were in alignment all the way through as to what would look best and function best.

We had moved out of our home during construction and even then the site was in great shape each evening when we stopped by. Great job!
Employees & Subcontractors: Everyone that worked on our project was friendly and kind, as well as highly skilled an efficient. They all went out of their way to be friendly with our three year-old, too.
Areas Of Satisfaction: The design/build process was fantastic. Working with Tom and Josh extensively upfront enabled us to design a fantastic space within our budget. The entire team helped us through the "value engineering" process, and ultimately we got more for our money than we thought possible. The finished product is awesome!
