Ivey Residential started as a collaboration between Jake, Mark and Matt Ivey. Jake started building homes in the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) in 1984. Over the years, he built close to a thousand homes and prided himself on the amount of repeat business he received, as well as the referrals that continue to flow our way from satisfied homeowners. Jake received his civil engineering degree from Georgia Tech and, prior to entering the home building industry, served as Columbia County engineer. In 2003 his company, J.W. Ivey & Associates, was named the Columbia County Small Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. He was honored with Builder of the Year awards on numerous occasions, most recently in 2008, and was two-time president of the Metro Augusta Homebuilders Association. Jake built each home with a foundation of professional pride and unparalleled quality. Read more

Scope of Work
We build homes from the upper $100's to the mid $400's. Regardless of price point, each home is built with detailed specifications to ensure each Buyer is getting the quality they deserve and paid for.
Team Makeup
Building a home takes more than one person. It takes a dedicated and cohesive team of professionals. A big part of the Guild Quality surveys is for us to measure the effectiveness of our team in delivering a quality home. The feedback we receive is an invaluable tool for doing so.
More than 90% of your clients would recommend your firm to a friend. How do you earn such high praise from your customers?
Once you buy from us you become part of the Ivey family, and we treat our buyers like they are family.
Approach to Working With Clients
We work hard to deliver what we promise and we have set up systems to create check points between us and the buyer and between us and the trade contractors. These check points reduce confusion and allow the buyer to enjoy the construction process.
Why are you a builder/remodeler?
Building homes and developing land is a tough business with many challenges. When you transfer the keys to a satisfied customer there is a sense of pride in knowing you overcame those challenges. If you're in this business for the money, you'll burn out. If you're in it because you enjoy it, it is a great business to be in with lots of opportunity.
How do you market your company?
We use outside companies to market and sell our homes; however, we receive a great deal of business from referrals and repeat buyers.
What's next for your company
We've got two new developments that we are excited about. One is in Aiken, SC. This will allow us to expand our geographic footprint. One is in Columbia County, GA called Canterbury Farms, a large master planned community with homes ranging from the low $100's to the low $400's.
Is there anything else you'd like people to know about you and your company?
We recently were one of three builders nationwide to receive an Energy Star award for excellence. We are constantly striving to build better homes that consume less of our natural resources.
