Project Architect Accessibility: Ty did the initial architectural design work, and patiently went through endless revisions in response to our requested changes. I've lately been working more with Doreen Ruiz, who I see as being teamed up with Ty. Doreen is extremely responsive, and offers several solutions to each problem with an extremely fast turn around. She really listens and is able to translate what I'm saying into to an executable plan.
Interior Designer Accessibility: Myranda is always there and very responsive. She has been good about paring down the choices to a manageable handful that are in line with our taste. When we don't like any of the choices offered, Myranda has a good attitude about having to "go back to the drawing board". It has been a good collaboration.
Project Manager Accessibility: I visit the construction site often, and whenever I have a question or a problem about anything I'm looking at, Reg has answered quickly.
Team Problem Resolution: Any concerns that we've brought up, have been resolved. Every member of the team has contributed to problem solving along the way.
Construction Quality: HB stresses the importance of quality in their work -- that's one of the main reasons we chose them. We want to work with someone who cares as much about our house as we do.
Recognized Excellence: Everyone has been great. It would be tough to say anyone on the team stands above anyone else. I would say that Bill Baldwin has been a superior collaborator, and, in our experience, unexpectedly involved for the head of a company.

We came to realize there is a level of quality consistently expected by HartmanBaldwin and the subcontractors were proud to deliver that quality. The craftsmanship throughout the home makes our house feel like a showcase. We like to say to our Project Forman Levi that we’d invite every potential client over to “kick the tires” so they could touch and feel the HartmanBaldwin difference!
Overall Experience: Having gone through two previous remodels on our home and after attending one of their workshops we were committed to the team experience you get with the Design/Build model. Included in the team was their Interior Designer Myranda. Incredibly efficient and knowledgeable, Myranda also possessed valuable interpersonal skills. She would listen to my husband’s and my strong and sometimes opposing opinions and return the next meeting and perfectly articulate what she had heard from both of us and invariably present the perfect solution that satisfied both of our desires and complemented the design of the home. Another notable difference with Design/Build is that our Architect Ty stayed with the project from start to finish. He attended weekly meetings which was extremely helpful and allowed for making adjustments throughout the project. When construction began the communication amongst the team was obvious. For example, unforeseen circumstances arose during demolition and if I was talking to one person to update them about it they usually had already heard the news. A breath of fresh air considering the communication bumps we had experienced during previous remodels.
Value Received: Not only did we get high quality design, workmanship and materials, we feel that choosing HartmanBaldwin over lesser bids ultimately saved us money overall due to the Design/Build model. Their many detailed and specific conversations with us early on saved us untold amounts of misunderstandings and rework. In addition, when problems arose HartmanBaldwin’s philosophy of getting it right probably saved us significant amounts of money relative to most other contractors.
Additional Comments: We’d like to thank our Sales Consultant Jesse for thoroughly presenting the design and development stages and shepherding the project from start to finish. Our Architect Ty who thoughtfully listened and not only designed a gorgeous and functional kitchen and family room space but delighted us weekly with creative and artistic designs that solved all kinds of challenges and added beauty to every area of our home. Troy, as Senior Project Manager deftly guided the entire construction project. Project Foreman Levi was prompt, courteous, always reachable and a problem solver. He ran the weekly meetings with professionally presented Notes Summaries that covered topics like safety and security, schedule forecasting, and decisions and selections. Lead Carpenter Fernando was unfazed by any challenge and could do anything presented to him. Another example of a true professional.

They made a complex process very easy to proceed through step by step. The craftsmanship of the kitchen cabinets and new staircase was exceptional. All work was very high quality.

Recognized Excellence: Reg Abersek is a wonderful project manager. He is meticulous and detailed about all aspects of the remodeling process and corrects even the smallest imperfection from a small crease in the edge of a cabinet shelf to filling a small opening next to the vent that we didn't even notice. He treated our remodel as if it were his own kitchen and in a respectful and gentlemanly manner.
Additional Comments: Thanks to the professionalism of Hartman Baldwin, we are extremely pleased with our new kitchen that was completely gutted and transformed to a beautiful and accessible space.
Schedule: Our new kitchen was actually usable about 3 weeks before schedule which was really great.

We tend to call the companies directly which, we are learning, is not right. HB stands behind their work (and the companies they hire) so they want to know about problems. LOVE THAT!
Responsive Design: The plan for the add-on is more than I ever could have imagined. It's going to create a great flow and it's exactly what we need! I'm really excited to get started!
Value: I completely understand that 'I get what I pay for'. This is why my husband and I came back to HB for the add-on after they had finished our kitchen. Yes it was more than I might have paid elsewhere (same with the add-on) but where else does the architect drive 50 miles out of his way to find the perfect tile for you?
Project Architect Accessibility: We were VERY excited to find out that Patrick would be our architect again for this phase of the remodel. He is easygoing and pleasant. But, more importantly, he has an incredible talent for envisioning and creating a space that meets our needs perfectly.
Team Problem Resolution: We've had several surprise issues that have come up during this project and they have been great and figuring out how to solve these problems and keep the project moving. I just can't believe how quickly they can figure out a solution for some of these issues.
Employees & Subcontractors: Not only has each person been polite but they are also very hard workers who often stay well beyond 'quitting time'. Also, they seem to really enjoy their work.
Recognized Excellence: I cannot say enough great things about Troy Coats, our project manager, and Levi Losser, the lead carpenter. Even though Troy has had some health issues that might have brought him down he has never presented anything but a positive countenance with us. I can tell he absolutely loves his work. His concern for our welfare is obvious. Levi is extremely hard working and, yet, maintains a positive attitude. His knowledge of construction is vast and much appreciated by me. He has helped us out by problem solving issues that have come up over the course of the construction work. Both Troy and Levi work so well together it's like watching a well rehearsed play. They can finish each others' sentences because they share such a great knowledge of construction. Levi even stayed very late on a Friday evening (7:30 p.m.) to help out a Verizon worker who was installing some FIOS equipment for us. We appreciated the fact that he wanted the Verizon worker to do a proper installation so as not to disrupt the construction process. I'm sure he had much better things to do on a Friday evening but he stayed for us. So grateful to have both Troy and Levi working on this job. Also, I would be extremely remiss if I didn't mention "Jonesy", the electrician. He is like an old friend. He's another person who is vital to the inner workings of the house. I appreciate him immensely!
Additional Comments: It's difficult for me to put into words just how much I love this company. I consider customer service to be of the utmost importance but HartmanBaldwin goes above and beyond any expectation I would have for great customer service. Every morning I leave for work knowing that my house is in great hands. I wish I could really express just how much I have complete faith and trust in every single person who has laid their hands on this project. I am humbled by the fact that every day a crew comes together to create an intricate piece of this artwork. They all know exactly what their job is and they come every day and do it with joy. I am grateful for these acts of kindness. Thank you so much.
Professional & Organized: I can't say enough great things about HartmanBaldwin. My husband and I are very grateful for their kindness and patience with us. Every question or issue we've had has been handled with ease.
Trust: I trust them completely. It's a great feeling to know that my house is in such good hands. I think of my house as undergoing surgery with the country's best surgeons.
Employees & Subcontractors: I can't say enough great things about the employees and the subcontractors. Every single person treated us with the utmost of respect and politeness. Although they may have been tempted to utter a few expletives due to the little surprises our house presented I never even heard complaining much less cursing. In fact, I often heard whistling while they were at work which spoke volumes to me about how much they love what they do.
Construction Quality: This is an understatement. The quality of the workmanship is phenomenal. Everything is custom built and designed for the space. It is like looking at an exquisite piece of art.
Recognized Excellence: First and foremost both Troy and Patrick were like solid rock during this whole phase of construction. I appreciate so much how they treated my home as if it was their own. Both of them are extremely patient and professional in that they did not complain about the project in front of us. I can tell Troy truly loves his job because of how happy he is to be of service and help wherever he can. Also, Levi, to me, is one of those special people who have qualities you don't see too often anymore: he's dedicated, kind-hearted, patient, calm, and hard working. It shows in his workmanship and time and attention he gives to the details. Dave (who works with Levi) - is the one who spent a whole day here all by himself and whistled the entire day. I just felt like he was in his element and LOVED what he was doing. The details in his work show this. Wayne was also a hard working person who constantly smiled and stepped in to help my husband on a backyard issue even though he didn't have to help. Of course, 'Jonesy', the electrician feels like part of the family. The team that did all the painting was very polite and stayed out of our way as much as possible. The tilers were all amazingly patient when dealing with several issues that revolved around the intricate tile work in our bathroom. And Allen Cantrall has been willing to take on landscaping our backyard and create for us a beautiful, drought tolerant space to enjoy.
Construction Quality: Our house is stunningly beautiful in ways I could never have imagined. What I love the most is that it is all custom made. No other house EVER will be just the same as our home. I must mention that, as part of the remodel, a part of our backyard was remodeled as well. Now that the plants (butterfly garden) have all grown in I have to say it is so pretty that it takes my breathe away at times. So many butterflies every day………..
Overall Experience: This is absolutely the truth without question. People are always amazed when I explain the process to them. I love how a project manager handles all the issues so we don't have to think about any of it.
Likely To Recommend: I talk about HartmanBaldwin all the time because I believe in quality customer service and, when I discover a company that has superior customer service, I let people know about it.
Additional Comments: Thank you so much to all of you for treating us so well during both phases of our remodel projects. I will be forever grateful that, even though our house is small and maybe we are not the typical HarmanBaldwin clients, no one ever made us feel like we were 'less than' because of it. Matt has been exceptional in translating our dreams into designs. Steve has been exceptionally straightforward and highly knowledgeable about all aspects of the construction process and in working with subcontractors. From time to time,Miranda has given good counsel from an overall decor and effect perspective. What has made Hartman Baldwin so exceptional to work with is the excellence of the entire team more than any single star performer.
Dust & Dirt Control: Adequate measures were taken, I think. We still have lots of dust in the non-work areas, but I don't know what else they could do to eliminate this dust. Work crews fastidiously clean up every day after work and, if needed, during the day as well.
Recognized Excellence: Steve and Matt have been phenomenal. We appreciate their wisdom, skill, and incites. They worked with us to resolve problems. They shared their opinion, but weren't bossy. They feel like friends.

Yet he still has time to answer my questions and stop by fixture,tile, appliance, and lighting shops to pick up samples for me. He's been very gracious about bringing his ideas to me.
Project Manager Accessibility: I feel like Reg and Patrick are part of my family now. They are both extremely patient and considerate of our thoughts and ideas. I'm always surprised when I find out Reg comes out to take a look at the project sometimes more than once a day and then I am more shocked to learn that Patrick comes out here a few times a week too!
Employees & Subcontractors: I am constantly amazed at the EXCELLENT customer service that Hartman-Baldwin offers. Every single person who has come to our home has been super polite. They go out of their way to try to make sure things are in their place and cleaned up at the end of the day. I'm impressed by the fact that they all introduce themselves to me or Reg will be there with them on the first day they are there and make sure to introduce them to me.
Construction Quality: I am very happy to know that HB uses such quality materials. I plan on staying here for a long time. It's nice to know that my new kitchen will last for a long, long time.
Recognized Excellence: I want to give accolades to a few people whom I feel are exceptional. Both painters, Joshua and Jesus, are the cream of the crop. I can tell they love what they do and are almost exhilarated by their craft. Russell, the tiler, goes out of his way to make his "creation" beautiful. "Jonesy", the electrician, is diligent about his work as well. I really appreciate all of these people who make it seem to me like their job is an art and not a chore. The 'crew' that is doing the baseboard and finishing work are very nice as well (I do not know their names). Thank you to all of them.Also, I think Matt, the other architect who has been helping us during this project, is a great person. I always appreciate his input.
Additional Comments: I really, really, really, like this company! I love good customer service over a cheaper price any day. Everyone said a kitchen remodel is a nightmare but I honestly do not feel that way at all. These people are outstanding!

We have worked with three different HB teams over the years -- all of them dedicated to solving horrible house problems that we provide. The solutions are beautiful and every step of the design/build process has been exciting, inspirational, and fun. They are most generous with the workshops and showcases -- very helpful. Plus we love meeting the HB "extended family"!
PM Professionalism: I'm amazed at the breadth and depth of knowledge -- from technical details to design. It is gratifying to see the exchanges with Tom Trautmann in our weekly meetings -- both clearly respect the other's knowledge and as a team, they come up with marvelous solutions to issues that arise. As with our earlier HB projects, it is wonderful to be a part of such conversations and see the project progress and evolve. We LOVE it!
Understand Building Process: With emails and weekly meetings, we feel very comfortable knowing where we are, what's coming next, etc.
Easier Than Expected: A remodel project is never easy I guess but with HB and this bathroom project, like the living/dining room project 20 years ago and the kitchen/music studio project 4 years ago, we find the entire process manageable and enjoyable. We learn lots in the process and meet wonderful people. Part of what makes it "easy" for us, I guess, is the fact that we trust HB to come up with a beautiful design and to do all of the construction the right way, taking no short-cuts and not calling any step in the building process complete until it meets their very high standards. We have friends who have had serious trouble with their remodel projects -- there's nothing easy about fixing such difficulties.

Trust: H-B is excellent is this regard. If there is a problem, you can count on Bill and his team to make it right. Even after project completion(and final payment), H-B will return when needed to correct or repair/improve.

It is totally obvious that you all love what you do and are very, very good at it. We have to pinch ourselves to make sure we aren't dreaming. With a couple of previous remodeling nightmares under our belts, we finally happened upon Hartman Baldwin. If this is a dream, please do not wake us up!
Recognized Excellence: Like we said in September's survey: Everyone. No exceptions. You are all exceptionally professional, courteous, respectful, communicative, talented and masterful. The whole, in this case, is much greater than the sum of the parts; and the parts are all individually exceptional in every way.
Additional Comments: Now that our remodel is done, we are thrilled and delighted with the results. Masterful esthetically and ergonomically. All these wonderful people showed up to transform our home and win our complete trust over the last few months. It wasn't a dream. It's true. Our home is now our castle.
