Remodeling Concerns: I was most concerned about the time involved for the remodeling project and Jeff was helpful to explain the process of how they could work with us around our schedule and complete the work in a time frame that met our expectations and worked well for the subcontractors.
Recognized Excellence: Jeff is an employee of THC and certainly gave a great explanation of the job and helped us fully investigate our options. The subcontractors, Brandon and Mike, were professional and polite when it came to doing the work and answered our questions. I found them to be a pleasure to work with.

Although theirs was not the least expensive price for the job, I always felt I was getting good value for my money. When the quality of the materials is considered as well as the professionalism of the crews, I feel I got a bargain.
Recognized Excellence: Lucas Dalton, the salesman and site manager was the epitome of patience and understanding. He helped me determine what work I wanted done and what I wanted the finished product to be. He helped me design the deck and was invaluable in helping me decide on size, materials, colors, etc. Vico, the deck builder was also great. He needed to understand what I wanted, based on 4 pictures I submitted withdifferent aspects I wanted for my deck shown in each picture. Vico managed to pull it all together with speed and pretty close to the picture I had in my mind. I am extremely happy with the service I received.

Areas Of Satisfaction: They were very communicative. They kept us abreast of the situation throughout. They called and made sure everything was okay. They were willing to look at things that weren't necessarily within the scope of the job, aspects that weren't directly associated with the project. Really, they went the extra mile. I could tell they took pride and cared about their work. The made the entire process very positive.
Remodeling Concerns: We were concerned about how time consuming it would be for us. We were also concerned about the cost. In the end my wife and I are extremely pleased. They were very accommodating and available. They handled everything soup to nuts. They allowed us to work on our own time table.
Recognized Excellence: Jeff and Scott were both very helpful and did a great job. Even their subs were all polite and nice.
Additional Comments: We plan on doing an open house. I really appreciate all that CHE has done for us. The whole process went very smoothly.

CHE was the company recommended by James Hardie Siding in this area. I also have a neighbor who used CHE for their siding and windows. I watched their crew work and was very impressed.
Areas For Improvement: No areas fell short.
Areas Of Satisfaction: CHE did exactly what they said they would do. Their work was professional and the finished product -- my home -- looks great.
Remodeling Concerns: Using prepainted (color plus) or just primed Hardie siding. CHE recommended color plus and showed me a couple of houses where color plus and primed only were used. The color plus looks much better and has a 15 year warrenty on the paint finish. It costs more than primed only but that is made up for in not having to paint for 15 years.
Current Referrals: All the neighbors in my subdivision who still have the original siding on their homes.
Recognized Excellence: Lucas Dalton, our sales rep., did a fantastic job of making us feel comfortable in our choice to go with CHE. David Strickland, our project manager, and his crew were outstanding. We were very comfortable having them in and around our house for the few weeks it took to complete our project. Every question we asked and every request we made, Dave addressed. They were all committed to making sure we would be happy with their work.

It is an MI home and they are the subcontractor for MI Homes so I have seen their work for about a year and a half and I have always been very impressed. I'm retired so I have time to watch these guys work on other homes and I didn't know the company but I knew their work was excellent so I contacted the manager of the site and that is how I got their name. They even went out of their way because they worked on my lake house in Roxboro which is an hour away from Raleigh. Anything I had them address as far as a punchlist they came and took care of right away. I have never seen a subcontractor with consciousness that they applied from start to finish.
Areas For Improvement: I really can't think of one. I don't live there all of the time so I didn't even see them work so that was very impressive. This house we had sided is basically a log house. The first level is logs and the second is siding construction and they even came up with solutions because some of the logs were rotting. They decided to reside the whole thing with plywood, wrap it, and then side over that. That made it air tight. It is unbelievable. It is a 25 year old house that looks like it was built yesterday. It is just amazing.
Areas Of Satisfaction: They handled it as if it were their own home. It wasn't just a job to them. They followed through from the estimator to the project manager.
Recognized Excellence: Lucas and Scott were great to work with. They worked with us with a credit card we used and financing too was jut phenomenal. We had priced them with other companies and they gave us a good price.

Lead Source: Custom Home Exteriors was recommended on the James Hardie website, in their "find a remodeller" section. They are experts in installing Hardie products, and that was important to us.
Areas For Improvement: Actually, they exceeded our expectations, and we are very pleased with the final outcome.
Areas Of Satisfaction: We were very pleased that our initial interest was taken seriously. Lucas clearly explained different options, made suggestions, and presented us with a clear, detailed quote. We're also very pleased with the final result: Our house looks like "new" construction, now that it's completely covered in HardiePlank siding and has rot-free soffits and fascia.

I was nervous about doing it, and about what they would find when they got under there. The salesperson, Lucas, really wanted me to be happy. He's the one who suggested how to put the shingles. We talked about color, and he told me where I could see houses Custom Home Exteriors had worked on. It was a very professional job.

They were especially knowledgeable in this regard. They really took the time to explain everything to us. For the value I feel it's worth going with CHE.
Current Referrals: I feel we would be interested in using them in the future. Also, I think my assistant is interested in using them as well. However, she lives in Durham, and I'm not sure if they work out there.
