Review from Latrice L.]]> https://www.guildquality.com/profile/Custom-Design-and-Construction?review=246509 Tue, 06 Feb 2018 18:29:04 -0500 Initial Meeting: It was all new to me so I had lots of questions and concerns due to no experience in the process, terminology, cost parameters, etc. I was also dealing with an open insurance issue from water damage issues in the same bathroom/great room involved in the scope of work.
Material Selection: Plumbing & Appliance: appliances N/A but received help with areas I was unfamiliar. The design team took the lead on floor tile which we designed the master bathroom around, cabinet color selection, paint color, plumbing fixture finishes, My selections with their design guidance ended up being used for shower tile, marble countertops. Fortunately I had time to shop now and I did a lot of shopping! Had I not been retired not sure how much longer the selection process would have been. I very much appreciated their input and feedback on items I selected to help give me the confidence that we were on the right track with the selections.
Material Selections: Cabinets & Surface: I appreciated the design teams flexibility and patience in working with me to realize my passion for re-purposing and using older materials in a lot of the design. I may be more obsessive than other clients about this but both Natalie and Beth were great to work with in this area.
Selections Process: Having been through it once I think it will be much easier the second go around. There are way too many design options out there on every little decision that is required and I appreciate Natalie and Beth help narrowing down the selection and helping me to make a sound decision that is both aesthetically pleasing, environmentally friendly, highly functional and thoughtful for ergonomics and aging in place, not to mention budget $ (so many elements ...all of which are important)
Design Matched Final Project: better than expected which is a good thing. I had a hard time visualizing the end state from the drawings and specs so it was a pleasant surprise to see it all completed and better than what I was visualizing in my head. The realization that I ended up with a view from my shower was a total, complete happy surprise.
Scope Of Work: I was not familiar with a lot of the terminology so I had lots of questions which the team patiently answered more than once. I appreciated the contract approach of material allowances since I was under an insurance constraint. I think it worked out well.
Project Manager Professionalism: Bill was all I could ask for, plus some. He was highly communicative which in my view is highly important, he held my hand all the way and I appreciate his attention to detail, and follow up and follow through. He kept notes just as I did so we together tried to stay on top of and ahead of any issues. It worked well.
Trade Partners Professionalism: One instance of smoking outside and lunch trash but it was resolved. thx
Schedule Timeliness: Ahead of the written schedule which was a nice outcome in spite of both the rain and dealing with the electrical roof issue which I knew needed to be driven to a root cause corrective action to avoid the "roof mast leak issue" in the future.
Punchlist: Excellent follow up and follow through by Bill and Ramon and his team!

He made it very easy during the construction process and kept us very well informed. If we didn't hire CD&C our project may have taken much longer to complete (especially with our sons condition). Although the cost of the project was more than we anticipated it was pretty stress free. Piece of mind is worth paying for and overall we are very happy in our beautiful space. Thanks Cd&c
