Professional & Organized: Yes, they knew how to handle anything that came up and were always professional and organized. I would trust any of their workers in our home at anytime, whether we were there or not. We felt total trust in this company and their employees.
Communication: Yes, always communicated quickly if we had any questions or comments.
Expertise: Yes, they pretty much held our hands throughout the project. Their choices of offering things, such as wall tile, floor tile, paint colors, bath fixtures, etc. was very good! We are very happy with the outcome of our remodel project.
Schedule: It was the time of getting our permits from the city that delayed our project; otherwise, the time they worked on our project was within the agreed upon schedule. Also, we were out of town often/had health issues and they worked around our schedule.
Budget: Yes, they stayed within our agreed upon budget and we even received money back after the allowance closeout.
Clean & Safe: Yes, from the start, there was good partitioning of our home which allowed us to live "comfortably enough!" and they always cleaned up daily before leaving. Shout out to Eric for keeping us as clutter free as possible! (always with a smile!)
Subcontractors Professionalism: ALL subcontractors they used were of the utmost professional and courteous people. They also I would trust in our home. They vet their subcontractors very well.
Value: That's a hard one! I think they are on the higher end of cost, HOWEVER, they do hold your hand through the whole process and we did not have to worry about or have to coordinate with any of the workers, SO we feel you get what you pay for and in the end, it was well worth it! :)
Project Manager: Yes, Shane and everyone at Next Stage were always professional and courteous!
Recognized Excellence: Shelly Yoder for coming up with the unexpected design which we went with and are very happy with! It was totally out of the blue for us and yet made complete sense when we saw her idea! Because of her, we have our own MasterBath! Yay! She and Lwin would also arrange to meet at the companies where we had to pick our choices for the remodel and also would suggest colors/tiles etc. and have us go into their office to look at samples. This was of great help. And with each change we made, Polly had to reconfigure all numbers - thank you Polly Bradbury!!!
Additional Comments: Choosing Next Stage for our home remodel was the absolute best choice we made. Sales Knowledge: Gary was great at scoping out the project and figuring out the projected costs, then keeping me updated and informed. He captured changes and kept great notes, proving to be a valuable resource for all.
Project Designer Knowledge: Dianne and Joy did a great job at figuring out my style and giving me some options to be a little daring if I chose. They coped well with last minute changes and all my questions. I was hesitant about a few things but decided to trust their knowledge, and am so happy with everything we planned.
Professional & Organized: Spreadsheet masters. Schedule was clear and adjusted as needed, mostly because they moved quicker than they'd hoped. BuilderTrend was a good resource and I appreciated the photos and project information posted there.
Communication: I was always able to get in touch with any team member if I had questions. It wasn't often because they kept me informed every step of the way.
Problem Resolution: I know that some of my appliances were tricky and the flooring was a challenge. But they figured it out.
Schedule: Finished AHEAD of schedule! That never happens.
Clean & Safe: Every time I visited the site, usually on the weekend when nobody was around, everything was in good shape. They took a lot of care to keep my remaining fixtures and belongings safe and secure.
Work Done Right: There were a few issues along the way, but these were handled quickly by Neera, Chip, and Tim.
Project Manager: Tim was super responsive to all my questions and was great at making decisions on the fly to keep everything on schedule and completed to his satisfaction. He was masterful at developing good relationships with my building management and the security/lobby guards who allowed access to my unit. This was essential in keeping the project on schedule and making everyone happy. Timlet me know when something came up—he didn't hide it from me but kept me informed about issues and their resolution. He was also respectful about my property and making sure others showed the same respect.
Recognized Excellence: I feel like Tim went above and beyond my expectations, especially in wrapping up the final details and making sure everything met with my satisfaction.
Additional Comments: I know I could have done this remodel for less money, but I wouldn't have had the quality of workmanship and materials that I have. Most importantly, I probably would have had a physical, emotional, or mental breakdown somewhere in the process. Next Stage Design + Build gave me peace of mind through what is normally a stressful and complicated process. It's not easy to do a project like mine and bring it in close to or at budget and keep on track with the schedule, but they did an amazing job. Well worth the money and time!

With Next Stage we paid a premium knowing that the work will be done right, they are fully insured, and the project requires minimal effort on our part since they take care of so many details.
Project Manager: Brad is a real expert, and very honest and straightforward. Always made himself available when needed.
Recognized Excellence: Francesca, Keith, Chip, and Brad were all great to work with.
Additional Comments: This is our second job with Case/Next-Stage. They really excel with complex projects like the floor extension or full kitchen remodels. Again, you're likely to find much cheaper bids, but that comes with potential risks and headaches.

Subcontractors Professionalism: The subs were very professional and prompt. In most cases they were here at 7:00 am each work day. These men were courteous
Work Done Right: The work was done right the first time. There were a couple of structural framing elements that needed revision, but they were immediately addressed. We had no negative issues and it didn’t negatively impact the schedule
Value: Debbie and me feel we got the best value for the cost.
Production Coordination: It was a collaboration which we really appreciated. Every phase was coordinated perfectly
Project Manager: Paul was outstanding to work with. He bird dogged the project daily, kept us advised of possible changes. We know he was keeping a close watch on the subcontractors and keeping them on task. The project duration was a direct result of his diligence.

Professional & Organized: Yes, Next Stage Design + Build was professional in working with us as well as being very organized in the planning, the scheduling, and the execution of the whole remodeling work from start to finish.
Communication: The Project Manager, Paul Delgros, and the Assistant Project Manager, Earl Pagh, were excellent in keep us informed with the status of the work that was being done or to be done.
Problem Resolution: Any concerns were addressed quickly and properly.
Expertise: It seems that all involved in our project had their respective expertise in their field and were able to perform to meet our expectations.
Budget: The target budget was close to the final cost of the project; fortunately, the final cost was a little lower than expected to be.
Clean & Safe: All the activities were safely, carefully, and neatly done.
Punchlist: The punchlist was completed without any significant delay.
Subcontractors Professionalism: The subcontractors that were used with our kitchen project were great. The cabinet maker did superb work on the quality of the units. Also, the cabinet installers did professional work. When the incorrect flooring material was installed, the flooring subcontractor replaced the incorrect flooring material with the proper material without any conflict. The subcontractor for installing the backsplash was a real craftsman with his work. All the subcontractors were very professional and supportive of our project and in providing their quality effort to make our kitchen remodeling successful.
Project Manager: Paul Delgros, the Project Manager, was on top of the action items that kept the project on schedule. He kept us informed of where the project status was and what is needed to be addressed throughout the project.
Recognized Excellence: Earl Pagh was quite dedicated to making sure all activities were accomplished and in reasonable time. Earl was genuinely interested in our kitchen remodeling project and quite supportive for us. Also, Paul Delgros, the Project Manager was as well.
Additional Comments: The remodeling effort is a daunting set of activities to do and coordinate. If we had to be the prime contractor for our kitchen remodeling, it would have taken us an ungodly amount of time and effort, a need of experience that we do not have to guide us. We appreciate the coordination, the resources, the allocation of special subcontractors needed to do the work, the scheduling, the permits needed, the new appliances that had to been chosen, and on and on. They always listened to our concern and addressed them promptly. And for some difficult issue, they always did their best to problem solve the issues. Of course It could not be as good as professional cleaning service but the site was cleared of construction waste and we could easily move in and enjoyed our newly remodeled house!
Sales Knowledge: Rita helped us set the scope of project and provided us corresponding quotes for different options so we had the flexibility to adjust the scope the project and set the proper expectation for the budget. She also helped us with the transition plan to divide the project into two phases which made our life much easier during the construction.
Project Designer Knowledge: Dianne and Noor are so wonderful to work with. They helped us find the design that suite our life style and also aesthetic pleasing. One of the biggest challenge is that our house has no square room but they made everything fit nicely! We have several customized spaces - an cozy nook for friends/family gathering and a laundry room/mudroom that's perfect for our ourdoor lifestyle and a specialized kitty litter room for our cats that's so much easy to maintain etc. Their design really improve our quality of life greatly!

Schedule: Sometimes things did happen and affect the scheduling especially for project of this scope but besides the communication from the NextStage team directly we could also find the updated schedule on builder trend so delays were anticipated and we knew the reason behind them. Clean & Safe: All the construction wastes were cleared from the site after each phases were done.

What is most appealing about your employees are that they have the right balance of professionalism mixed with authenticity and friendliness. I loved that they shared tidbits from their personal lives along the way. Rita could recommend places for us to check out when we traveled to Healdsburg. I know Paul loves Family Feud and had an amazing trip to Italy. Dianne was always quick to share photos of her little boy during our conversations of how rambunctious young boys can be and Noor would share guidance on parenting teens as my daughter is now entering that same stage. I could hang out with this group on a Saturday evening over dinner and have the best time. Professionalism was always there and that is great, but authenticity is what stood out to me.
Sales Knowledge: Rita was with us from day one and there was not a step along the way that I didn't feel taken care of by her. Her ability to answer any and every question we had with confidence gave us such a sense of comfort. We knew she knew what she was doing and we did not have to worry. Project Designer Knowledge: To write a review of these three incredible women in one section is just not fair! Dianne, Noor, and Berfin, THANK YOU for guiding the ship in the design phase. My husband and I have talked extensively about what we love the most in our new home and it goes back to the original design. We are still living in only a 1,500+ sq. ft. home and yet we feel we have gained SO much space and functionality in our home. This design was everything to us and we cannot thank you enough. I am not kidding when I say that each and every day I have a moment where I look around and reflect on how grateful I am. I promise you that is a genuine statement, each and every day I can't believe what you have given our family. Dianne and Noor, I am incredibly grateful for the endless hours we looked at more design choices than I care to ever look at again for the rest of my life ;-) While you are both familiar with my type-A personality, that personality does not extend into design elements and I was often overwhelmed at what might look good or what would be a good choice. The fact that you came to each and every meeting with things narrowed down for me was such a gift. You were patient with me while also moving me forward with gentle nudges which I very much appreciated. Lastly, thank you again for sharing yourselves during this process. We could have only talked about tile, grout, and lighting choices, but you were so much more personable with me and I look back on our meetings with a huge smile.
Lead Carpenter Professionalism: While we moved out of the home during our renovation we did not live that far away and often would swing by to check things out. Each and every time Ray was at our home we felt he took such good care of it and his attention to detail was as if it were his own home. He was so kind and courteous and his builder trend updates were always much appreciated. When we saw him on the schedule we knew after his visit we would have detailed images to view. While our interactions were not as frequent as they were with others on the team, please know how much we appreciate the care you took with our home, Ray!
Professional & Organized: Organization is my love language and throughout this process I have learned that it is also Next Stage's love language as well. This is why you guys were perfect for us ;-) Thank you for keeping things so streamlined and easy to follow throughout the past year.
Communication: Texts, emails, builder trend updates, phone calls, and visits. Can a client ask for anything more? Communication along the way from each and every person was phenomenal. Thank you for being available whenever we have needed you.
Problem Resolution: The entire process has been incredibly smooth for us and while there have been little things along the way that maybe you could classify as problems, they were dealt with in a very timely manner.
Expertise: Without question we felt so safe and comfortable with our home in your hands. It sounds silly, after all it's just a house, but it was so much more than that. It was money being spent that we had saved for quite some time. It was our first home that we had purchased after moving to California in 2015. It was the home that sits next to our neighborhood school that our son attends. We handed over our home to you and that is not an easy thing to do. When you handed it back, you preserved the heart of the home while giving us years to grow into its new walls.
Schedule: I don't know how it happened since everyone tells us renovation projects never end on time, but somehow it all worked out! We are incredibly happy to get back into our home before the Holidays.
Budget: Transparency around the budget, change orders, and closet outs were exceptional. We always knew where we stood with our finances and the budgeting of the project. Thank you for making that part of the project painless.
Clean & Safe: I cannot thank you enough for completing this project without disruption to the neighboring school, crossing guards, and hundreds of children that walk past our home on a daily basis. Right before you started demo on our home there was an incident in our district where a child was hit and killed by a car in a crosswalk going to school. It was such a tragic accident and I was terrified when you started construction that because of our home renovation, trucks and vehicles might hinder our crossing guard's visibility of the students. It was never an issue and I am so grateful everyone who came to our home was mindful of the traffic and children. I know some home sites are easier than others. Please know that the care you took to not block our streets is appreciate by me more than you will ever know.
Subcontractors Professionalism: Everyone we encountered was very professional and courteous!
Value: We know that we could have saved money by going about our renovation in a different way or with a different company, however, there is no doubt in my mind that if we had, the experience would not have come close to being as good as it was with Next Stage. We had high expectations knowing what we were spending and you exceeded those expectations!
Project Manager: It speaks very highly of Paul that as soon as I hear his name, I get a smile across my face. He, of course, was the one behind the scenes managing every detail of our construction schedule but outside of that he is so personable and fun to chat with. Paul was happy to meet with us on a weekly or biweekly basis so we could see progress and ask questions, he responded very quickly over text and email, and dealt with any issues we had in a timely manner. The role of Project Manager is so vital to the success of a project and I realize that I say that not even knowing half of what Paul does behind the scenes. In fact, all the headaches and stress that he shouldered during our project so we didn't have to, makes him a freaking Golden God! I trusted him wholeheartedly every step of the way. Production Coordination: The production Coordinator was responsive, paid attention in details and monitored the project to the target date.
Project Manager: He explained the project to be executed thoroughly and what to be expected. I was comfortable that he lead the project smoothly.
Recognized Excellence: I recommend Raymond, and Chip for their excellent services. They are an asset for the Company. These employees were working very hard even though the job required two person jobs but they were happy and performed well by themselves.
Additional Comments: It happened during the construction work , we were out of the country for two weeks. We left the house, the key for the workers to continue working on the project. Everything was fine. The workers protected the floors ,the stairs , the walls for their work. I appreciated with their consideration to maintain the living space clean and their discipline.

Project Designer Knowledge: Shelly Yoder's design was the inspiration for the project. After we selected some key foundational elements, she put it all together and made the process a pleasure.
Lead Carpenter Professionalism: Ray was here so much he became part of the family. Very courteous and considerate to leave our home as clean as he found. it.
Professional & Organized: Very professional, very organized. All plans and build timelines were provided and updated regularly. No surprises.
Communication: Both on site conversations and app based updates made the planning easy. I had to coordinate painters, window contractors, audio video contractors, and others so they wouldn't interfere with each other. The planning process made that easy.
Problem Resolution: We had structural issues which caused some delays but the team kept the subs informed so that they could adapt to the new schedules. I had some issues with appliance installation and Nextstage stepped up and installed by range when it wasn't their job. Much appreciated!
Expertise: Yes. Their relationship with and understanding of the county permit process was excellent. They helped me avoid unplanned and costly structural upgrades by reinforcing existing structural elements at a fraction of the cost.
Schedule: Very close to the original schedule. Delays are expected but there weren't many.
Clean & Safe: We lived in the house during th remodel and the team was great at cleaning up when they left for the day.
Punchlist: We didn't have much of a punch list but it was handled quickly.
Work Done Right: Most was flawless. We did have to re-tile a section of our shower twice because the project manager noticed the quality wasn't up to NextStage standards.
Production Coordination: Very responsive and helpfull with other contractors I had hired for smaller elements of the project.
Project Manager: Paul was awesome. Always responsive. Very good at the technical details and working with the county permit process.
Recognized Excellence: Earl was awesome. Always has a smile on his face and very helpful to keep the program on track on a daily basis. Nor was also extremely helpful to us during the design phase.
Additional Comments: So glad I found Next Stage for this project.

Lead Carpenter Professionalism: Glenn was always there when we needed him. Keeping us informed, and doing great work. I highly recommend Glenn for the way he interreacts with the customer, and the quality work he does.
Communication: Using buildertrend, Cell phones, email, text. Next stage was ALWAYS there and very responsive to any questions, concerns and plans for how the project was going.
Problem Resolution: Problems were very few and far between, but for the couple of instances that came up, it was NEVER adversarial. we were all on the same side getting the issues resolved.
Clean & Safe: The took what seemed like extra effort to keep the site clean. Every day work was performed was begun and ended with ensuring a clean work environment.
Project Manager: Tim is simply amazing. His openness and availability to talk about the project really made him a friend. He made the relationship in a way, that I felt completely comfortable contacting him anytime with any questions. I wish everyone could have Tim as their project manager.
Recognized Excellence: We had most of our contact with Tim, and our design team Shelly and Francesca. They were a joy to work with and so helpful from start to finish. Sorry to see them leave our home for the last time as the job completed.

Recognized Excellence: I don't think I had a "project manager" during my first project with NextStage and Chip handled everything (maybe he was lead carpenter and PM all rolled into one). I think for this project, it was helpful to have Paul doing his thing and Earl/Zack doing theirs because it was more like 3 smaller projects all bundled together (so more coordination required).
Additional Comments: I really appreciate NextStage accommodating my travel schedule. I know that prevented the crew from wrapping up earlier since I was not comfortable with anyone entering the house while I was out of state. Paul offered to swing by the house to check daily but that just seemed unnecessarily burdensome to him to me. I believe he was getting pressured to get my project done so this was on me. But I truly thank Paul for offering.

She never shied away from our ideas and was with us every step of the way letting us know how much things would cost. We also appreciated her professionalism and willingness to talk freely about our concerns before, during and after the project.
Lead Carpenter Professionalism: Glenn was more than a carpenter on this project. He was able to see our vision and skillfully build it and make it a reality. It is obvious Glenn has a lot of hands on experience and I have a feeling our project would have gone a different direction had Glenn not been on the project throughout. Not only did he do all of the framing for the upstairs but he also installed the kitchen cabinets and everything turned out beautiful. I especially love how he framed the dormer window in the upstairs bedroom. It is prefect.
Subcontractors Professionalism: I would like to especially mention Jeff Dean plumbing and the drywall partners. They went above and beyond!! The water in Willow Glen is horrible and finding the right tankless to use and filter system was complicated and we really appreciate Jeff Dean’s knowledge and recommendation on what system would work best. It was also challenging to plumb the new upstairs. Jeff, Glenn, Tim and Jeff S had to work closely to make it work. It was impressive to hear them talk through the obstacles. Drywall, worked tirelessly and the results are beautiful. They had to work with existing plaster as well as new drywall and you can not see any transitions. Amazing!!
Project Manager: We never once felt like our project was out of control. There were a few sleepless nights over exterior siding(not NextStage’s fault) and Tim successfully guided us through every step of the way. He was a shoulder to cry on, someone to give high-fives to, and would be there rain or shine. He called just about every night to let us know what to expect the next day and made sure the project kept on tract.
Recognized Excellence: This project would not have happened without Jeff Schroeder. He was very much involved behind the scenes helping Patricia,Tim and the engineer to make sure the overall character of our old home was not being overlooked. Jeff played a valuable roll especially in the beginning to make sure the overall “plan” was well thought through and every possible option was explored. Jeff understood, from the beginning what was important to us and where we were willing to compromise. He cared enough to step in and share his knowledge and the project was better because of it.

Project Designer Knowledge: Diane was great, and turned what was originally a "simple" custom cabinet into the center piece of the project - the thing we were most looking forward to coming home to.
Lead Carpenter Professionalism: Glenn was (as usual) fun to talk to and delivered tremendous work, including a few above and beyond spots.
Communication: The combination of email, phone, and updates in BuilderTrend make for a great combination. We particularly appreciated the regular pictures in builder trend, so we could monitor the work from afar.
Expertise: Their management of their partner contractors is always exceptional.
Schedule: This project even completed early, as they found a few extra hands that came free and got stuff done sooner than planned.
Value: I am occasionally teased by indications of somewhat lower costs, but I am constantly reminded of the extra details that Next Stage takes care of without asking, and their dedicated management of their subcontractors.

Additional Comments: We are really happy with the results. It was remarkably low stress and we never felt we had to watch our back. It was nice to know that we could trust the company and workers, and not have to keep an eye on the project.

They are all just good people - it speaks well of the individuals, as well as those doing the hiring.
Sales Knowledge: Patricia was great across the duration of the project, she was clear on the initial estimates - and did not over or under promise. So we knew clearly what we were getting into. Surprises and change orders were handled promptly and well.
Project Designer Knowledge: Corina was great, even having to pick up the project after a personnel change - it was handled smoothly, and with no issues. We were very pleased with the design, design options, and ability to ensure what we wanted was best captured.
Lead Carpenter Professionalism: I've worked with Glenn on two projects now. I am always comfortable having him in my home, attended or not. He is great about asking where there are decisions, and just doing good work everywhere else. Even the smallest thing (hanging a towel rod) gets attention, ensuring at least one end was in wood so it will be extra sturdy.
Professional & Organized: Next Stage has always been professional and organized. Planning phases and options are always clearly laid out, the ordering/materials plan is always complete - and this time, even with COVID disruptions (forced work stoppages by the county), they still were.
Communication: Next Stage uses email, phone, text, and an App - and they use them well. They have great attention to detail, to make sure questions are answered, reminders and notices are clear, and we always know what's next.
Problem Resolution: The only problem on this project was induced by COVID-19 restrictions. Next Stage was excellent at keeping us informed (we did not have to look up the rules ourselves), and also being flexible on restarting so we could get our own plans in order.
Expertise: Between their own staff, and the trades the work with, there has never been a topic that they did not cover.
Schedule: Only COVID-19 interfered with the schedule, and Next Stage handled that very well.
Subcontractors Professionalism: I enjoy the folks from the trades that Next Stage works with almost as much as the Next Stage folks!
Recognized Excellence: On this project, Tim was exceptionally helpful navigating the COVID-19 induced disruptions, helping keep us aware of what was going on (as we moved out this time), and adapting to any changes.

There were no issues in getting final approval by the City of San Jose. It was great working with a licensed and insured contractor who obtained appropriate permits. We would not hesitate to use Next Stage in our next project.

Project Designer Knowledge: Shelly was great. She was always willing to show us more ideas when we weren't sure. She understood what we wanted and was always giving us new and great ideas. She was always enthusiastic about our project and really seemed to know what we would like.
Lead Carpenter Professionalism: Earl was the best. He was always courteous and always willing to help fix some of the extra little things that came up. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable.
Professional & Organized: Our experience with Case (Next Stage) was better than we could have hoped for.
Problem Resolution: Not too many problems, but the ones that did come up were handled perfectly.
Expertise: Everything we needed was handled perfectly.
Schedule: The schedule did get extended because of COVID-19 and the shelter-in-place order, however, they did everything they could to get our project finished in a timely manner, despite these issues that were beyond their control. We were very happy that the delay was not nearly as bad as it could have been. Since the delay was not in their control, I am still giving them a "strongly agree," because they did their best to keep the delay to a minimum.
Budget: The only additional money at the end was due to some things we asked them to do as they went along and this was entirely reasonable.
Clean & Safe: They always made sure that everything was cleaned up by the end of every workday.
Construction Quality: Everything was just as I'd hoped it would be.
Punchlist: Again, some things got extended because of COVID-19. However, they still did everything they could to keep everything moving.
Value: I believe we got what we paid for. Considering we were getting our kitchen designed, gutted, and custom-built, I believe we could not have gotten the quality of work if we'd paid less.
Project Manager: Tim was great. He was always responsive to our needs and he was wonderful to work with. He inherited our project about halfway in, but immediately got up to speed and was always available when we needed him. When the shelter-in-place order came down, he kept communicating with us so we would know what the status of our project was. He was very helpful.
Recognized Excellence: Everyone we worked with were wonderful- we were especially happy with Tim Kistler and Shelly Yoder. Tim became our project manager suddenly when our previous project manager left and he immediately familiarized himself with the project. He was always willing to help us out, and respond to all our needs. He went above and beyond. Shelly was wonderful as a designer. She went out of her way to find materials that we liked, even matching our light fixtures to our existing lights. And she always seemed to know exactly what our tastes would be.
Additional Comments: I'm so happy that we went with Case/Next Stage for our kitchen remodel. Everything was done well and timely. I'm so happy with the final product, everything is exactly what I'd hoped for.

Brad helped me follow up with floor refinishing damage of a cabinet door that had to be replaced. This was not in his domain, but he took care of contacting flooring rep and payment for new door. Brad managed patiently all the problems we had with subcontractors tripping the alarm,making sure it didn't happen again, and meeting with police during a false alarm at our home while we were out of town. We had a detailed report every night of what took place in our home that day as well as weekly reminders of our schedule. He is exceptional and we really appreciated all he did.Julie is so talented and patiently worked with blending our very different tastes. Her suggestions were perfect even if we couldn't visualize the finished product. She also helped me with her design expertise to pick out a table and chairs to complete our kitchen
