2nd Annual Morning Run at the Remodeling Magazine Leadership Conference

GuildQuality Runner

The GuildQuality team doesn’t travel all that much, and when we do, we like to get out and see the sights. In keeping with that tradition, we invite all of those who are participating in next week’s Remodeling Magazine Leadership Conference to join us for our 2nd Annual RMLC Run on Friday morning (departing sharply at 6:15am from the lobby).

We intend to run for about 40 minutes, but we’ll tailor our pace and distance to the crowd (provided it’s not filled with crazy fast ultra-marathoners).

To make sure we don’t leave without you, please let us know you’re coming! Either email us at sales@guildquality.com, or let us know via Twitter by messaging @guildquality.

GuildQuality Recognizes Top 6 Replacement Contractors for Delivering Quality Customer Service

GuildQuality traveled to Las Vegas last week to present Service Excellence Awards, alongside Hanley Wood, to six standout replacement contractors at the Replacement Contractor Executive Conference. Winning the Replacement Contractor Service Excellence Award shows a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. Something we value highly. Over the past few months, GuildQuality and Hanley Wood reviewed numerous survey responses submitted by clients of replacement contractors nationwide. We then selected with Hanley Wood, six winners from two different categories – those with more than $10 million in revenue for 2012, and those with under $10 million in revenue for 2012. The winning companies had the highest overall response rates, recommendation rates and scores across all questions asked.

Congratulations to NEWPRO, Unique Home Solutions, Woodbridge Home Exteriors, Energy Swing Windows, Blue Ridge Exteriors and North Georgia Replacement Windows! Each of the winning contractors brings a little something different to the table when it comes to how they deliver customer service. Replacement Contractor Magazine Editor, Jim Cory shared some insight on each winning contractor’s individual techniques.

Webinar: The New GuildQuality: 2/19 at 2pm EST

Last week, our product team launched a completely overhauled GuildQuality reporting application. This Tuesday, Laura and I will introduce you to the New GuildQuality during a 30 minute webinar.

During the presentation, we’ll give a brief overview of the history and trajectory of GuildQuality’s product development, discuss why we overhauled our application, share with you the major enhancements and changes, and give you a glimpse into some of the improvements on the way in our product pipeline.

Sign up for the webinar here. Space is limited.

Preview: The New GuildQuality

Next week, we’ll release a completely overhauled GuildQuality reporting application. Don’t fret: We’re not changing any major functionality. But we are dramatically improving the design, simplifying navigation, and adding a few new features.

Behind the scenes, we’ve made a whole host of less obvious enhancements that eliminate some of the accumulated drag that adds friction to the product development process. After years of relentless and rapid innovation, it was high time for us to step back and tidy things up. This is the sort of work that falls into the non-urgent but important category, and we’re glad to have it behind us.

We’re spending all of this week dotting our Is and crossing our Ts in preparation for releasing the new GuildQuality into the wild next week. In the next couple days, we’ll announce some dates and times for webinars during which we can provide you a guided tour. Stay tuned!

Sept 20: “What I’ve learned” presentation to Atlanta HTML5

A few months ago, the awesome people at Atlanta HTML5 invited me to give a talk at this September’s Atlanta HTML5 Meetup.

The title of my presentation is What I’ve learned taking my startup from idea to profitability, and I’ll be sharing the nicks, bruises, and breaks we’ve received while building this business, as well as some of our finer moments and a handful of the serendipitous ones, too.

So far, 152 (!) people have RSVPd, and I’m now officially nervous. This is a super strong group, and they regularly have over a hundred people in attendance. I’m honored to have gotten an invite to present. Thanks to the organizers for having me, and thanks also to Engauge for hosting.

Sept 26: Atlanta Data Visualization Meetup at GQHQ

On the evening of September 26, we’re hosting the very first meetup for Atlanta Data Visualization & Infographics. If you dig the visual display of quantitative information (and who doesn’t!) and you’re lucky enough to live in The ATL, then 1) join this meetup and 2) join us on the 26th.

Participants will have the opportunity to present their work, and get feedback from everyone in attendance. We’re not sure what we’ll present yet, but I’m thinking about showing off the GuildQuality Scorecard.

Random Hacks of Kindness

What would you do to help the world through code? This was the question posed at the 2012 Random Hacks of Kindness event this past June. Developers, designers and subject matter experts all filled the conference room in the ATDC building at Georgia Tech to each find a way to help over the next 48 hours. A number of them, pitched ideas that could be done within the short weekend and make an impact.

GuildQuality’s very own Kevin Bandy was a member of  one of those innovative teams that set out to lose some sleep and over indulge on pizza for the weekend, slaving over laptops and brainstorming. This wasn’t just an effort from developers and creatives in Atlanta, at the same time around the world rHoK kicked off as part of one big movement.

Kevin recounts, “A few teams even put in the effort to build teams that surpassed physical boundaries and even language boundaries all in the name of the greater good. As the weekend wrapped up, the sleepless crowd was strangely energetic as we pitched our masterpieces to a panel of judges to win great little prizes, but more importantly, to show what could be possible through technology to make the world a better place.”

rHoK didn’t stop at the end of that weekend. These projects were immediately pushed to the open source community so that anyone and everyone can contribute and help see each of these projects to fruition. To learn more and get involved, visit the rHoK site and take a look at the video posted above. 10 extra credit points if you spot our GuildQuality hat!

GuildQuality an Atlanta-based company known for elevating the building industry with third-party customer satisfaction surveying, is powering our first-ever Service Excellence Award specifically for Atlantans!

In January, the Atlanta Service Excellence Awards will honor exemplary customer satisfaction among Atlanta’s best in the residential construction and remodeling industry.

Visit www.guildquality.com/awards and complete the entry form. There is no cost to apply. Existing Guildmembers are eligible for the Service Excellence Award by default, and need not apply to be considered.

If you have questions, please contact me at erica@guildquality.com or (888) 355-9223 x 6131.

Awards evaluation process:
GuildQuality will survey your most recent 50 customers (or, if you’ve had more than 50 customers in the last year, we will randomly select 50 from your prior twelve months of customers).

You are welcome to apply for an award in as many as two of our available industry categories.
Please note: To be eligible for two separate distinctions, one-third of your company’s revenue must be generated by the particular industry category you select. You will receive survey responses in real-time as each of your customers shares their feedback. Normally 70% of homeowners respond to our surveys.

Choosing the winners:
By the end of November, we will complete surveying for all candidates, compile the results, and identify the top performers.

Deadline to apply: October 15, 2012

Winners announced: January 15, 2013

Promoting the winners:
GuildQuality will promote the award winners on our website, through partnerships with local media, and in the real estate and homes sections of Atlanta’s major publications. In addition to their distinction, winners will also receive logos for use on their websites and in print.

Thank you for your interest in the Atlanta Service Excellence Awards. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your application!
